Vortex Diamondback vs. Vortex Crossfire II

Vet, You can read about these scopes til the cows come home, trust the Diamondback, it'll get you there and back home. I'm not a guru on these scopes, I sell them, and their binos, trust me, they are fine quality glass! I've had older Redfield 3X9, Simmons 6X18, and now the Vortex Viper...

The Smith I miss most came back home today, 14-3

dscampbell, I can/will do that. I've only shot it a few times, then cleaned and back in the safe. My knowing it hasn't been shot much kind of has me not wanting to shoot it much more..... but then why have a revolver if you're not gonna shoot it right? Will put your note in a separate file for...

    .25-20 supplies?

You'd be a lot better off finding brass and reloading it. I work at a large sporting goods store, there was one box of 25-20 cartridges on the shelf as of last week, they were asking $72.00 for the 20 round box! Plenty expensive shooting my friend.

Seriously, what is with the falling prices of firearms

jrdolall, "Heck, most people don't even know theres a shortage." Want to bet? I work at a huge sporting goods store, .22 ammo on the shelf doesn't last long there at all. Just last week, there were 3 shelves full of .22's, Nosler bricks of 500 were selling for $98.99 !, those were the ones...

bothersome range sessions with friends (sometimes)

I belong to a private gun range, I can take 2 guests at a time, they must sign in and put drive lic. # on the sign up sheet. That seems to always be a sticking point for a couple of them, "I'm not putting my ID number on there", its for insurance purposes, not to do a background check! My 2...

    Groundhog infestation IN TOWN

We've had a big problem this year with cottontail rabbits! They've dug under both front and back cement porches. We'd also had some settling happening, 20 years in this house, so we had an outfit that has a product like mud-jackers use, only polyethylene . They drill holes, squirt this stuff...

    Lapua, hands down!

How much prepared brass is enough? ??

rg1, "Can't stand to see unloaded brass." Then you wouldn't want to see all of the '06 brass I've got sitting by my bench, 600 cases worth. All tumbled, resized, 300 of them primed, the others, no. I haven't got time to get all of them reloaded, powder, bullets, primers.... let alone shoot...

    S&W 38 special revolver question

Old by 60's standards? Nah, I've got a #14 in 38 spl, and a #17 in .22 cal., both made in '51, both of them are 95% or better. They both shoot fantastic, the #17 shoots a lot better than I can, smooth as butter actions.

    Filling holes

I've got an older Rem. rifle my Pop had, removed a scope and left the screw holes open. I bought a box of gunsmith screws form some outfit, probably Brownells, put some blue Loc Tite on them, screwed them in to level, still there, doesn't look bad either.

Holy Cow look at the reserve on this Colt.

I sure like the 6" Python I own a lot better, knowing I can shoot mine and not have to worry about cleaning all that other stuff up too. To each his own.
