There is a bolt mod you can do. I don't know much about it other then what I pulled online.
That's a rattle can finish:D I won't complain I bought the rifle for 50 bucks with Ruger rings.
I like that at least Mossberg is doing somthing different from the crowd. I also like that all their stuff is mean and scary looking to the liberals, whether practical or not.
So I just added another to my safe. I wasn't looking but the price was right (under 100 shipped to me) I couldn't pass it up. Especially after reading Jeff Coppers stuff for the past few years.
Its a Mosin M44, with a bubba'd scout rail that fits ruger rings, bubba'd stock and the bolt is...
I picked up a Mossberg 590A1 "Blackwater" and choose this model because it comes with a set of XS's ghost rings. I plan on adding and optic and a two point sling. For the sight I'm going with a Vortex Sparc which is in the mail as we speak.
I am undecided on the sling, its mostly for...
I have a 45-70 in a Marlin lever and have been hand loading for the cartridge for quite some time. I'm just looking for something a little different and loading a 600gr + bullet sounds right up my ally.
I'm thinking about picking up a NEF Handi rifle in 500 S&W as my large bore range toy. Just wondering what the general consensus is on these rifles. I have heard the earlier models had a problem where the action would pop open under pressure from firing the cartridge. How are the latest models?
I guess I'll wait until my new extractor and spring come in from brownells and see if it throws hulls out of the ejection port a little better. I haven't changed my forearm or anything else yet. Until its up and running I've nominated my old chopped Ithaca M37 to HD duty.
Thanks for the response. So far its very light use for a 870. I'm at around 400rnds or so down the pipe. The ejector rivet is in there tight and shows no sighs of visible damage. I'm thinking I could have damaged something shooting slugs off a sandbag. The slide was really coming back with...
I was shooting Winchester Super X slugs off a shooting bag and the recoil energy was racking the slide and throwing the empty hulls, I think this may have damaged something.
After shooting a few off the bags, I tried shooting some offhand and this is when the problems started. When I...
As an owner of an old Ithaca m37, these shotguns don't get dirty. I actually just detail stripped to replace a 50 year old shell stop spring last week. I was planning on using the opportunity to clean everything out. The truth us it didn't need it. The barrel had plastic and powder...
I have an 870 and a'60s Ithaca m37. I'm thinking about adding a Ithaca Defender to the safe. Just wondering what the build quality is like on the new ones and if they can slam fire like my old Ithaca can?
All the casings extract from the chamber fine they just don't kick out the ejection port and end up getting crushed between the bolt and chamber. Sometimes I've run through 100 rounds without a problem and others ill have one failure per box.
(newbie) How does the ammo make a difference in the timing of the bolt? How big of a difference in pressure change would there be by changing to something like 124gr or 115gr ball ammo? How would this change the timing of the bolt?
I've now run around 300 rnds of American eagle 147gr through my Glock 17 version Sub 2000. In this much of ammo I've had about 5 FTE's, usually on the last round sometimes not. I'm using factory gen 3 glock 17 mags. It runs fine with 124gr Sellier & Bellot. Anyone have an idea what the...
Our liberals here are just like your liberals down there. Gun ownership in Canada is as high as third in the world. We are very pro gun. Handguns are illegal for us to carry concealed or otherwise. For defensive use in the bush shotguns are used with very short barrel lengths (mines a rem...
I bring my Ipod with me to the range and the Iphone 4 won't be any different. Its nice to have a ballistics calc. and a shooting timer easy availible. I just like all my gear to match I guess.:D
