Only one gun for all reasons.Even if you know better

We only have the two legged type of varmints here in Springfield Mo. So I have a SIG 229 in the nite stand and a 225-A1 for EDC. Oh yeah, since I still live in the united states the ammo is in the guns, not in another room.

    Reloading, powder questions

I've got 16 pounds of WC846(similar to BLC2) and I don't load 308 any longer. Could this powder be used for large caliber pistol loads, 40-44-45? Give me your thoughts on this.

    2A back up needed

There's a political board I frequent that is full of anti-gun Liberals who are as nice as a ten gallon Stetson full of A holes with all the good ones picked out. :cuss: I'm in need of some back up. If you feel like helping combat the army of darkness as I call them come join the fight...

    The RUGER OLD ARMY Club

Mine get used, and since I got the Kurst cylinder for 45 ACP for the first one it gets used a lot more, I hand load 185 and 200 plated in it with 4.5 to 5.5 of Bullseye shoots easy and real accurate

    The RUGER OLD ARMY Club

So a few days ago I log on to GunBroker while I'm guzzling my morning coffee and I do an Old Army search just for grins. I landed on a gun the guy had just posted, a blued 140-130xxx series pre warning pics looked good and it was only $295. BAM! Buy now! Just got it today and it's...

Also be careful that you dont loose or reverse the cylinder pawl plunger and spring, it's an itty bitty part and it's alao "Murphy" style part in that it can be installed backwards. It needs to be installed with the plunger forward against the pawl.

Yes I did, also talked to Mr. Kirst himself, I'm well within the safety range and never exceede a grand per second.

    The RUGER OLD ARMY Club

After I got the ROA I also bought a Kurst conversion cylinder in 45ACP, I chose the ACP over the long colt due to the availability of ACP brass. I thought I was going to be somewhat limited in what I'd be able to load and shoot in the ROA with the Kurst cylinder, thinking lead/cowboy type loads...

Is a new Remington 700 safe to buy?

My .02 I just got a new .308 700 SPSV this month and I've had no malfunctions with it and since reading all the stuff about the M700 trigger problems I've attempted to make it fail with just a primed case in it and to date it has not gone off accidentally. I've fired a little over 200...

    anyone else weigh their powder?

Here's what I found I did this with 777. Bottom line here is if you charge a BP firearm by weight measurement rather than volume measurement you will be over charging it. However that being said if you needed to use your powder scale to weigh out some 50 gn volume equivalent charges then...

    Case sizing lube

Most any type of lube will work, I even tried pure lanolin and I had a tube of extreme high pressure grease I used for chain saw sprockets, ditto slide glide and hi tech teflon fishing reel drag grease but I found that the petroleum stuff worked too well and was hard to get off the cases once...

    Case sizing lube

I've got off the shelf lubes but have also experimented with dry teflon bicycle chain lube which works great, not real pricey and a little goes a long way. Now I also have a dozen or so bottles of hand lotion and moisturizing body lotion around here gathering dust so I grabbed a bottle of Suave...

Why do you store your BP guns loaded?

Not to mention the huge cloud of smoke that will either allow you to... A. Reload, B. Take up a better firing position, C. Shoot again or D, Run out the back while he, they can't see you.

    Fun with the ROA

Thanks Jeff. I ordered one out and will give it a try.

Why do you store your BP guns loaded?

Just my.02 If BP/Cap n Ball is all you have do what you need to do as there's no denial they are deadly weapons. Personally I'd not be inclined to leave a cap and ball gun loaded as a home defense gun nor would I attempt to use one as a HD weapon unless it was a case of last resort. I...

    Fun with the ROA

Along with the cap and ball shooting I decided to expand the ROA's horizons a little and bought a Kirst conversion cylinder in 45 ACP, this revolver is absolutely amazing using those rounds. I've been using low to medium velocity loads both for safety's sake as well as comfort and accuracy...

If you could only have One Cap & Ball Revolver...

    Powder measuring volume vs weight

I was reading about developing loads using Trail Boss powder and that's very similar to what was being described.
