wow. How ironic.
I work with a guy who did something similar.
Took a magnum caliber of the same kind and necked it down to around 6MM i believe. it is a really long bullet and looks awesome like a super sized WSM but i don't know how practical it is.
Right now i might actually go for a 30-06 since Remington still makes it with a wood stock.
Again still open to ideas, and i am definitely going to look at some Model 70's and Rugers.
A question to those out there, are the CDL's free floated?
And how are the Improved X-Mark triggers...
I would lean towards the BAR.
I have a Remington 750, don't get me wrong great gun, but the trigger is horrible.
The BAR from what i have seen and experienced is a lot better.
I love mine to, and really it never bothered me i took a little flak from other people, but the trigger is a part that isn't going to get abused or something that is involved with the round, so i never really got the big deal. Everything involving the round is still metal.
Just had to put it...
I had a bad expirence with Savage that has me weary of buying one, The week before hunting season a few back the extractor broke, wasn't pleased, went up to cabela's returened it and got my 750. That whole day was screwy, i was shooting Federal vital shock (25-06) and they felt wrong to powerful...
Just a big fan of the Remington 700. Love the action.
My buddy has a Winchester Model 70A, great gun not a big fan of it though. And he also has a Ruger M77 Stainless Steel, love it, but it's chambered in .300 win mag which is just overkill for me. And i already have a bit of a flinching...
Ruger 10/22. Semi-Automatic, very accurate rifle recently i hit a target (Basically for S&G's) from 300 yards, no real grouping but from that range out of 10 shots 8 of them were on a 16" target. Also i like the Ruger because of the 10 round rotary magazine.
I just got one for $220.
Be warned...
Hello, i am thinking about getting a new hunting rifle after this season, my main reason is while i love my Remington 750 chambered in 30-06, (Shot my first deer with the predecessor 740, or 7400 my grandfather bought when he got back from Vietnam, and i have shot 7 or 8 deer with it in only two...
Thanks guys.
Boyds did not have any stocks for a 750.
I have found Accuracy Systems before, and have thought about getting some parts from them but i was not looking for the Tactical look, and their parts are a bit expensive.
Thanks.

Just curios if anyone knows where to get after market parts for a Remington 750. I'd like to find a thumb hole stock, and someway to mount a bi-pod. But any information on any aftermarket parts would be a huge plus.
Thanks
