Grips by Recover Tactical for 1911

On a high note, one of these on my 1991A1 would be a heck of a lot less than a brand new Colt Rail Gun.

Revolver Picture Thread of All Time

That and it would be pretty tough to have a ten or twelve pound full double action trigger pull with a flashlight prop rod

    What's the hangup about speed?

My only reason to load closer to the top instead of the bottom is an effort to make the powder burn more cleanly than leave junk behind to bog up the works. Once I get clean burning powder then as long as it's accurate I'm done.

always learning...next time I'll google my powder choice BEFORE I buy a pound!!!

I have a similar "Google it first" feeling about Trail Boss. It works great, it's very case filling, but I don't find it to meter well since the little green donuts like to bridge as they drop. Still trying to get through that first bottle a year later.

Is the damage to society from guns worth the freedom to have guns?

I would rather we ban deadly trampolines since they kill or injure more people than firearms and are not specifically named in the Bill of Rights as a protected right not to be denied to all citizens. Why? Because: http://www.fscip.org/tramp.html Besides, firearms aren’t even close...

What is the smallest round you will reload?

I would reload rimfire ammo if I could find the old kits they used to sell.

    ...breaking decapping pins - why?

I would add to slow it down on swinging the arm. The only time I've broke a pin is when I start moving a bit too fast and something isn't perfectly lined up.

    .40 S&W Bulge

You are looking at the bottom half of the common that seems to be called wasp waist caused by sizing with carbide sizing dies. When you seat the bullet you will then see the top half where the bullet causes a bulge at the top. It isn’t a problem in the slightest and should just be ignored.

    Glock Boiling???

And since the frame nor the mags are super tight tolerance parts, none of this should matter. Since UV was mentioned already, I would think that UV damage to the frame would be more of a worry item than the amount of moisture in the frame. Since I don’t know of many holstered carry Glocks...

    Glock Boiling???

I'm not concerned about the open cell structure of nylon or similar. What I'm trying to figure is how WATER would do a darn thing to how pliable the plastic is or isn't. We aren't talking about your dried out dish sponge. If we were soaking them in mineral oil then maybe I could see how that...

    Glock Boiling???

I'm confused. We are making this sound like the poly frame nylon or whatever may need water to somehow restore it. I agree that some polymer compounds may indeed soak up water, but how does this do anything for the durability of the polymer? I have family that lives in a desert and they have...

    Lee Production Pot problem

You have filth build up around the needle. You need to work on using clean lead or cleaning in a non bottom pour pot first. The only way I have found to clean the pot is to drain it and start scrubbing. If it isn't too bad, you can take a small brad nail and hold it with a needle nose and...

    powder stoage cabinet

Smokeless powder burns and creates rapid gas expansion. The idea behind the cabinet is to not create a solid seal that will hold the expanding gas until the cabinet explodes. Smokeless powder needs the closed in space to build pressure to create an explosion. You will have to put some real...

    corn cob or walnut hulls?

I'm using the Drillspot 14/20 corn cob blast media, the used dryer sheets trick, and add a small squirt of NuFinish to fresh media. I use a universal decapper to pop out primers before cleaning them. A soak in a citric acid solution before dropping them into the media helps with bad corrosion...

    Critique my first reloading setup

I would dump the Tmag and buy a cheap O type single stage press if you are only going to be loading for rifles. I second the above comments about buying a beam scale rather than an electric. I have an Autocharge and I still like to check the tenth charge on my RCBS 505 just to be sure I'm not...

Overcharged ammo. Run it or redo?

I'm pretty sure that most of the .40SW kabooms I have read about were using heavy for caliber 180gr bullets. And this is about over charged loads with 200gr bullets. It's kinetic hammer time.

Why so few retail outlets for supplies?

Small stores or stores that aren't going to store bulk quantities are going to pay the same shipping and hazmat fees that you are. Then they have to include their markup for profit. And they don't want a huge inventory tying up their funds, so they end up with paying just as much fees as we...

    Cast or plated?

I load a LOT of 200gr SWC's and RNHP's for my range time fun. I tumble lube them in alox, size them at .452", load them with 5.5gr of Win231, and they shoot better than I can aim them.

Just be careful not to become an equipment collector: That is a recent pic and is already out of date... O_o
