I'm a big 1911 fan but I've always owned Full size gov't models. I'm wanting to start carrying a 1911 but I want something smaller than a Commander. Are the compact/officer models reliable. What are the better options out there? Para, Springfrield? Feedback is apprecaited. Thanks.

Well.. What I'm basically asking about are the newer models with the gripper grip where the screw goes into the bottom.

Are there any aftermarket grips for newer Taurus revolvers or are we left with the rubber gripper grips?

There's a guy that comes in the local gun shop that carries seven I believe. Two shoulder, an ankle, a SOB, back pants pocket, shirt pocket, and I'm not sure about the other but anyhow, I've heard he carries 7 and it's supposedly because when he "was in vietnam, his unit was always on the move...

What's known about the 24/7 compacts so far? Any pictures? I find the idea interesting if they keep the sa/da and the rubber grips. I like the slim feel of the grip too. Hope they don't screw it all up. I have a PT111 Mil Pro and love it but I'd love to have a small, compact 24/7.

So I finally got a Gaucho and I really enjoy it. I understand it's a Colt Copy and that I can get colt style grips for it. I don't want any with colt Medalions of course, just seems wrong. Are they One piece or two? What's some good places online to get them? Hope you can help. Thanks.
