    Revolver recommendation for new owner

Get a Ruger or a Charter Arms. Save the money for a Smith (686 Plus, 3 Inch) but stay clear of Taurus. Search for the customer service horror stories about Taurus.

Your very mistaken, you sir deserve the credit for the wealth of knowlege in that quote. Its a summary of your words with just a hint of sarcasm if you didnt notice.

Are you seriously going to use slugs in an apartment setting. If so, that is completely foolish and irresponible. A 20 gauge 2 3/4" #3 or #4 Buckshot will work just fine for close range self defense. A buckshot load like this will have a much lower risk of overpenetration. This Winchester...

Is that a 20 gauge?....................If so its no good for self defense. It will dislocate your shoulder:rolleyes: So I hear.

    need help finding 20 gauge

Yes yes you are right. Nobody should even consider the brutal recoiling, dangerously iron sighted, 20 gauge as a viable defensive tool. LOL

    need help finding 20 gauge

Im not the one arming my wife. If I was going to build her a shotgun It would be the 11-87 20 gauge I cited above. I agree with you about the sights helping with cheak weld. Also, anyone who asumes that because a shotgun sports rifle sights it will only be used with slugs does not know much...

    need help finding 20 gauge

:rolleyes:How exactly are rifle sights and 20 gauge a safety issue? The issue may not be recoil, Im 6' 3" 230 pounds I just like the way a 20 gauge handles. They are a little lighter than most 12 gauges.

Does this look like the real McCoy U.S. 1897?

Im by no means an authority on this subject but it looks legit to me. Could it have been in the arsenal until WWII and marked at that time? Looks nice .

Safe but accessible way to store home defense shot gun

I think locks are a good idea with children. My HD pistols are in quick access vaults. My shotguns however are not. My girls ages 5 and 7 will not touch my guns. I have taken the mystery away from them. Shown them how destructive a gun can be. Preached the dangers and concequences just as my...

You might realy consider a Remington 11-87 Compact 20 gauge. This has an adjustable LOP and 21" barrel. Add a choate +3 mag. extention. Maybe add a tritium front bead. I would load it with BB shot inside of an apartment. I would see if the Choate extended charging handle for 11-87 12ga would...

WOW! Is that Santacruz gunlock ever a ripoff! 200.00 for that, LOL. For 229.00 to 289.00 you could have the V-Line which is a very heavy duty product........... http://www.authoritysafes.com/v-line.html

    Home defense dilema

Leave the "Tacticool" shotgun to Hollywood. Go with "Practicool". Sounds like you found a Speedfeed stock for it. That will work much better than the PG. I suggest you get a tritium / white dot front sight. Meprolight or XS Sights................... http://www.midwayusa.com/Search/#meprolight...

Safe but accessible way to store home defense shot gun

I dont have one but I have always thought these were pretty cool............... http://www.vlineind.com/html/long_gun_case.html The Shotlock looks good but is not compatible with ghost ring sights or sidesaddles. The Mossberg unit looks nice and simple but will only work with pump actions...
