    Finally! Decent priced .22LR ammo

When my current supply of 22LR runs out I will find a new hobby if prices don't go back to 2012 prices. I will still keep a small supply for critter control which is seldom.

    Open carry question

Nevada is an open carry state. I have seen a few carrying in places like the supermarket and Walmart but not very often. I OC when I am out on BLM land and most people you meet out there are armed. I don't think OC in places where there are lot of people is a good idea because it makes a lot of...

    Ruger LCR sights are off?

rcmodel -- The only living thing I have ever shot with my snubby is a few rattlesnakes and an inch can make a difference. Mostly I shoot cans and etc with the goal to be as good as I can and it helps if the sights are on.

    Ruger LCR sights are off?

I have an LCR in 38 spl and 22lr. The 22 shoots right on best I can tell with such a short sight radius but the 38 spl is 2-3 inches low at 20 feet. It does this with 158 and 125 grain bullets. Looking at the front sight I can see the 38 has a higher sight than the 22. One of these days when I...

    Ruger. 22 LCR?

I am happy with mine except for extractor frequently looses it grip on one or two pieces of spent brass.

    Ruger LCR-22; DON'T

I don't know what the pull is on mine but it is lighter than my S&W 317 and the sights are a lot better. I think with a little practice one can shoot better than other revolvers with the same sight radius shooting double action. I have the LCR38 also and although it has a lighter trigger I do...

A couple of new Ruger LCR's

whtsmoke - Yes I do and I think if I could hold the cylinder perfectly vertical I would have less extraction failures.

A couple of new Ruger LCR's

momano - They don't really stick, it's just the extractor loses it's grip on them just before they fall free but no I have only been shooting Federal bulk pack from Walmart so far

A couple of new Ruger LCR's

Mike -- The cases end up almost extracted under the star and I end up fishing them out with my car keys. I have never had this problem with my S&W 317 and the cases are much harder to extract to the point I carry a small block of wood to press the extractor. By best guess as to the LCR problem...

A couple of new Ruger LCR's

Just bought a couple of new Ruger LCR's, one in 22 LR and the other in 38 spl. The 22 shoots great but the extractor at least half the time doesn't extract one or two cases. The trigger as expected is heavier than the 38. The velocities seem a bit lower than a S&W 317 of same barrel length but...

    223rem

I agree 4227 is to fast for best velocities but I have used 2400 to get around 2500 fps with a 55gr bullet and 4227 is slower and with a 36 gr bullet I would suspect a load could we worked up in the 2800-3000 fps range

    Steel Vs. Brass

Yesterday I shot 20 rounds of Wolf 308 through my bolt action rifle. Before I finished extraction was becoming more difficult. After cleaning chamber extraction difficulty went away. I guess how much of a problem this is depends on how tight of a chamber you have.

Are there any Lee Dippers out there?

I try to find bullet powder combos that I can use a dipper for. Saves time as my PACT digital scale takes about 10 seconds to stabilize and sometimes behaves strangely so I trust the dippers more. Works best for larger cases not so well for 9mm (.3cc too small and .5cc to big for powders I have...

First .22 LR auto -- Thoughts? Ruger or Buckmark?

I have both and I seem to shoot the Buckmark more. It seems at least for the guns I have I have less malfunctions with the Buckmark and when I do they are easier to clear. Also most everything that needs cleaning on the Buckmark can be done without disassembling the gun

    red dot for 9mm loads

I couldn't get it to work in my Glock 17 unless I reduced the load to the point where the gun wouldn't cycle but if your gun will cycle with a light load it should be OK. I would give it a try if I were you.

    PMC brass

All my PMC brass has off center flash holes. I find this interesting since I think PMC stands for precision made cartridge

    Comanche revolvers

I was just looking at 38 specials on Gallery of guns and saw Comanche revolvers listing at $205. Any know what you get for that price ?

Red Dot in the 45 ACP?

I have used red dot in my 45acp. With a 230gr lead I used 4.0gr and with a 185JHP I used 5.0. I had good results but now use AA #2 because I have 5 lbs of it and it meters best of any powder I have used

    aa 1680 powder

ARMARSH - Thanks for advice but I have no intention of going higher since the next dipper size is 2.8cc which I am sure would be too high. I did try 2.2 cc in my 308 and got 2725fps. It seems my velocities are always above predictions. I only have a PACT scale so I have nothing to compare with...
