My Dublin Castle Flint Musket was made long before Trade Guns were mfg. It has got to date from 1760-1780 period. Trade guns were of different design...24-28 gauge, short light, large trigger guard bow for two finger pull, bow/arrows/fox/tombstone stampings...most with brass dragon sideplate...
looking for information on my Dublin Castle Flintlock Musket. Original Flintlock with Dublin Castle & Crown stamped on Lock Plate. It looks very much like a French Charleville 1763-1777 Military Musket. Has "S" shaped iron side plate & # 9 stamped @ breech. Thanks, Old Flintlock
