    Revolver Modernity Suggest

It's hardly ultra modern, but I really like my S&W 637 airweight .38spcl. I did shoot my buddy's 3" Kimber .357 and I think I'd go for that if I had it to do over.

    Do you carry a S&W J-Frame revolver?

I carry mine while hiking in the summer. It's a handy little piece. I sometimes put shot in it for snakes.

Handgun cartridge face-off: 357 Magnum vs. 10 mm Auto

I would pick .357 mag simply because I think it would be more versatile. As a hand loader I can load up some .38 sp wadcutters for the range, some .357 JHPs to make a backup load for hunting and personal protection, and some .38 sp shot loads for pests.

9 rounds of 22 Mag for self defense

This depends a lot on the threat. A .22WMR is going to be more effective than harsh language, but shot placement will be key.

    Savage Combination Rifle Shotgun

I have one of these in 22WMR over 20Ga. I rarely use the shotgun barrel, but I have an inexpensive scope on it and the .22mag barrel shoots to the point of aim of the scope.

    Hellcat? Yes or no?

I've been to the range with the Hellcat and the Sig 365X and much prefer the Sig.

    22WMR or no?

I like the .22WMR for things like woodchucks. My back yard is right around 100 yards long and it seems to do Ok there.

Help me pick a lever action

All the centerfire levers I've fired are Marlins. I own a 336 in .30-30, which is a pretty fabulous deer rifle for a lot of scenarios, and a 1894 SBL in .44mag which I adore, simply because it's fun to shoot. I download .44mag rounds to lower pressure to shoot for kicks and have full-power...

Revolver or Auto, one pick only.

    Revolvers: S&W 637 .38spcl for woods/kit gun Ruger Alaskan .44mag for self-defense/hunting Ruger Single-Six .22LR/22WMR for plinking/hunting Autos: Beretta 92FS 9mm/22lr for self defense/hunting/plinking Springfield MC Operator in .45ACP for self-defense/hunting Sig P229 Legion in 9mm for...

Number of rounds used in defense going up?

I haven't noticed a trend that indicates more rounds fired in self-defense scenarios. I carry a 7+1 shot .45 and a 15+1 shot 9mm with equal enthusiasm. If I'm in a self-defense situation that requires a reload I normally have a spare mag.

Which .22lr should I buy next?

These days my go-to .22LR pistol is my Beretta 92FS with the Beretta 22LR conversion slide and barrel. It's great for training on the range, and of course I have the original 9mm parts for serious purposes. I like the idea of a .22LR kit gun, but my go-to for this is my S&W 637 in .38spcl...

Anyone still carrying with older JHP Ammo?

I've carried old JHPs. I usually shoot them up before they get very old, but I'm pretty sure I have some 20+ year old stuff and I carry it without reservation.

Did anyone change what they carry today?

Not really. Just had a talk with the Mrs. about some contingencies we hadn't discussed in a while.

    What about Beretta 92?

I've had one for many years. Definitely reliable and easy to shoot. I never had to carry one in battle but I carried one as my CPL gun for years. I would trust my life to it.

    .22LR Beretta Bobcat?

The gun in your hand is more useful than the one you leave at home because it's too big to carry.

What is the last gun that you bought?

I recently picked up a 229 Legion. My second Sig, my first Legion. I definitely like it.

Buddy wants a 22lr Pistol. Narrowed it down to. Suggestions please

I have the lightweight Mark IV 22/45 and really like it.

I want to be "that guy" with one CCW weapon...

No struggle. It's been years since I've only had one carry gun. I like my compact 1911 most of the time, but I have a few others.

45acp or 10mm For Hiking Carry?

I have a Colt Delta Elite and like it very much. But candidly, when I walk in the woods I usually carry an airweight snubby in .38, or my Sig 938 (9mm).
