    .223 55 grain - drop versus 69 grain at 100 yards

Because my wife got upset, I had to stop at 25 yards, it wasn't my plan, but I was able to adjust to shooting 2" high at that yardage, until I can adjust at a 100 yard range. Thanks!

    .223 55 grain - drop versus 69 grain at 100 yards

Update: first the good news. Put a target out about 25 yards and after 4 shots you could cover with a dime, they all landed a couple inches down and left. Got it sighted now. Very confusing as the last time I shot a few rounds a few months back and I was good at 100 yards. Everything seems...

    .223 55 grain - drop versus 69 grain at 100 yards

I should have mentioned in my original post that my shot was at about 150 yards with different ammo sighted in at 100... 50 yards shouldnt make that much difference. I am sure it cant be the ammo, i will check it all out later this week and share

    .223 55 grain - drop versus 69 grain at 100 yards

I wasnt actually hunting, if i was I sure as heck would know and tested ammunition before. We have 20 acres in east Texas and the pigs are making a mess. I saw a few roam in the field and took a shot off the porch. I obviously need some adjustments.

    .223 55 grain - drop versus 69 grain at 100 yards

I have my AR sighted in at 100 yards with 55 grain reloads. I picked up 69 grain factory HP's and took a shot at a piggie yesterday at about 150 yards and MISSED. I hate when that happens. Anyone speculate on the drop difference? I think i saw a puff of dust below and that would mean a drop...

Big cartridge, small powder fill, tip gun before firing?

Just loaded up some 45-70 for my Contender. Boy, 28 grains of 2400 doesnt fill the cartridge much! Just wondering if it makes a difference and whether I should tip the gun back so the powder is all up against the primer before firing. Thoughts?

30 - 30 which of my powders work best?

I see on the front of my H335 bottle that it says 33.0 grains for 30-30. According to their online charts, 33.0 is the max? Anyone had any experience with this load for 150 grain RN? Thanks

My BIL just wowed me with a gift of a 6.5 Creedmore WITH scope - powder choices

One heck of a surprise. I like to reload everything I shoot, so I did a powder inventory and it looks like I have quite a bit of H4831 and 8208XBR, and one pound of Varget. I can find recipes for each of them and am looking at loading 140 grain. What would be the powder of choice here of those...

    Winchester primer problems!?

I am pretty confident the issue was with the upper LLL lot, I included the other one as I did find an empty box in the trash and its possible it had issues, but I dont think so

    Winchester primer problems!?

Well, I did just hear back from Win. Although the lady I spoke with was super nice, if i cannot sent them back examples of the out of round primers, they dont seem to care and there is nothing more to do. I am in a new lot and everything is fine, but i do have to say that I am disappointed in...

    Winchester primer problems!?

The Dillon folks also suggested cleaning the tubes and I want to share that I found the perfect way to clean those narrow tubes - a .177 bore snake that I have for my pellet rifles worked excellently! Also, I do think I had a bad batch and still intend on using Winchester primers.

    Winchester primer problems!?

If I can get a pic, I will, although I dont know how visible it could be. I am also starting a new lot so I am hoping it was just that one batch. I took pics of the lot #'s and sent them to Win. I will be interested to see what they say. Sure was a pain, removing a tube of primers off the...

    Winchester primer problems!?

Gone through 1,000's of these over the years and they are my go to brand. While reloading over the past few days i had a number of feed issues on my 550B, so i called Dillon. The first question to me was the kind of primer I am using. Told him Win and his response was that they dont have good...
