    Question about stockd pistols

Agreed. I wouldn't want to use my stocked Broomhandle for home defense, but it's a lot of fun to shoot. Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk

    Oops. 9x19 fired in a 357 SIG

I've seen .40 S&W fired in a .45ACP 1911. Bulged case but no other major issues. Wouldn't want to do it intentionally, as YMMV.

San Fransisco's last gun shop closes

This is a real shame. Over the years I worked with Lauren on the importation of over a dozen of my firearms. I'll miss her.

British Contract Colt Official Police 38/200

That's interesting stuff! Are there any sites you know of listing the proof mark details?

British Contract Colt Official Police 38/200

Here are some photos of my Official Police .38-200 I picked up in Australia. It has the (Australian? British? ) Department of Defence "Broad Arrow" and few remnants of the original blued finish. The ejector rod head and lanyard swivel are missing, but the lockup, timing and trigger are...

    Broomhandle Mauser Barrel re-lining

Thanks for the heads-up; I'm very tempted to have Redman resolve my keyholing C96. Cheers!

Frankinstein Guns - Making Them Live Again

I have a Winchester 1892 in .32-20 that had the barrel replaced by a previous owner with that of a Martini Henry .310 Cadet. Still shoots like a dream after all these years.

    Colt revolving rifle in movie

One of the Bushwhackers Jake teams up with in the "Lonesome Dove" miniseries uses a revolving carbine.

    Hawes 45 Colt Western Marshal

I have a Sauer & Sohn Western Marshall in .357 mag that I love. The only problem I encounter is in the screw-in frame mounted firing pin assembly. If it gets in any way loose, the threaded collar snaps in two. I'm on my third assembly at the moment; I'm gonna Loc-Tite this one tight, I reckon...

Australian Politician Tries to Ban Any Distribution of 3D Printable Gun Models

Awesome RussellC - Great to hear! Yeah, it was frustrating during the time the first big bans were being planned. We had a large number of shooters in Australia, but no single organization with enough members to represent and push back. A lot of anger was caused by how obvious it was the new...

Australian Politician Tries to Ban Any Distribution of 3D Printable Gun Models

G'Day RussellC. I'm an Aussie living in the US, so I can give you some additional info. There is firearm ownership in Oz, but without a 2nd Amendment it is treated as a privilege and not a right. It is very heavily controlled by the government, with not only each owner needing to be licensed...

Question about 30-06 bullet weight and accuracy.

My Remington 760 30-06 loves 150gn, but that's about it. It's amazing how much it *doesn't* like anything else.

    Lonesome Dove

Maybe his wedge doesn't drop *because* he's thumping it against surly bartenders. Check the user manual; it might be a recommended SOP. BTW - I love that miniseries.

    Remington 700

I love my .308 BDL-DM I bought from Cabellas. There was a special on at the tile where the DM (detachable magazine) was the same price as the fixed-magazine version. I must admit I probably could have done just as well without the DM. I rarely remove the magazine. Great rifle!

    Can you ID this flintlock?

Thanks, Gary - will do. I should be able to see it in person soon, at which time I'll post more pics and details. Have a great day!

    Can you ID this flintlock?

Hi Everyone, My friend uncovered this flintlock while cleaning out the property of a deceased relative. The deceased relative was a collector of antique furniture and not a shooter, so it is feasible that this could be an original rather than a repro, but of course I’m not certain. I haven’t...

    JP Sauer Revolvers?

I have one in .357 Mag and love it. Tight lockup, nice balance and a good trigger. I needed to add a touch of metal putty to the foresight and file it accordingly to bring it to point of aim (it was shooting high and to the left). The one area to be careful of is the threaded, two piece firing...
