    reassembling a Browning Buckmark

Uh, rondog I do appreciate the tip but I gave up on midway first time I logged on there. If I was desperate and couldn't find parts anywhere else--but why else would I pay twice Browning's list for the identical part? Long as I'm dissing, I avoid sites that don't post shipping charges up...

    reassembling a Browning Buckmark

Hey OBD you gotta try harder than that to insult me. (I'm the one who was trying to put those lock washers UNDER the site base, remember?). Yeah the front and rear screws are noticeably different in length--and though I don't wanna draw that rear one out to confirm it now that it's loctited...

    reassembling a Browning Buckmark

Y'all are great for responding so promptly and thoughtfully. OK washers on top of the site base and points facing up; thanx for that! Recoil spring wasn't super easy to install but I just used my gnarly thumbnails. Seating the back end buffer first, I used my nails to compress the spring...

    reassembling a Browning Buckmark

Specifically the rear-sight base. Finally got a pair of those star (lock) washers from Browning (also a brand new recoil spring assembly) and though the gun's never fired better since I bought it I did notice after nine mags through it the site base was so loose it nearly fell off...

    browning buckmark custom grips query

whatever its model all the grip assemblies appear the same (the grips all hold down moving parts like the mag release spring and the disconnector spring and disconnector on the right side of the gun and the slide lock and the safety on the left). any buckmark owners experienced similar issues...

Checking there again (Browning) I'm thinking my model's more likely the Standard URX.

    browning buckmark custom grips query

It's an oldie (1985) and its model isn't stamped on it. At the Browning site the one that best matches it is the UDX. (Blue steel and the squared off barrel).

    browning buckmark custom grips query

Great question C-F and I only wish I knew the answer; bought this used with the custom grips already installed. Have just read elsewhere that some clip/jamming issues are related to the grips and how tight they are.

    browning buckmark custom grips query

Searched for this topic first so I hope I ain't spiking a thread that's already out there. Been having issues with my buckmark 22LR and have come back here with hat in hand and head bowed. Started when I bought a brand new magazine and noticed it's slightly different from my two original...

    loctite on a Browning Buckmark

Hey thanx y'all for your prompt and thoughtful responses. So I take it you who've had success with the blue Loctite are then able when necessary for deeper cleaning to remove the loctite'd screw with just a screwdriver? Only go down this far into the gun three or four times a year--but I'd...

    loctite on a Browning Buckmark

That age old prob of the rear sight base screw coming loose with almost every clip-load of shots fired through the pistol. And from what I've read even replacing those star washers doesn't necessarily do the trick so I'm thinking of loctiting that rear screw. Have read of others doing...

sight adjustments on an older Browning Buckmark pistol

Thanx for the windage clues, Greg. Here's a snap of what I believe is the elevation adjustment screw for this site:

sight adjustments on an older Browning Buckmark pistol

Hey Thanx Greg and Rondog for your prompt and thoughtful responses. Yes I've wandered 'round Midway with my tongue hanging out--but then pretty much gagged on their "special handling fees" when it's time to order. (Key as you say Ron is to stuff the bag with more goodies). And Thanx for the...

sight adjustments on an older Browning Buckmark pistol

Though there is a thread on this topic already it seemed so old I feared posting a response/query there might get lost so I'm hoping it's kosher to start a new thread. First, there are about a meg of gun forums out there but it was not difficult to choose this one to join as politics and the...
