    Kimber 1911

I've had nothing but great experiences with Kimber, including my current carry gun, a Classic Stainless II. I'd say go for it!

    MIM parts in Kimber

I've had over 16,000 rounds through six different Kimbers with no parts breakage (no jams either). I think the whole rigamarole about MIM parts is hot air.

    Most Reliable Autoloaders

Glock 17 9mm SIG P229 40 Kimber Classic Custom 45ACP Kimber Classic Stainless Gold Match 45ACP No jams from any of those guns through thousands of rounds. I've had other guns that haven't jammed, but I didn't put the amount of ammo through them that I did through these four.

Help me decide on a Sig

I'd definitely go with the 229. Best pistol SIG makes IMHO and not difficult at all to CCW.

    Finally bought a SIG

You bought the best SIG of the bunch! Congratulations.

Blazer Brass, Winchester White Box, or Remington Green Box?

BTW I just ran 200 rounds of Blazer through my Kimber last Saturday and it was great. Accurate and totally reliable. Would buy more in a heartbeat.

What is the most accurate autoloader you own?

    Kimber Classic Stainless II.

    S&W 4506 or 4566, or neither?

Having owned and attempted to carry a 4506 and owned and carried a 1066 (same size as the 4566), I can tell you that the 4566 will be a heck of a lot easier to conceal should the need arise.

    i love sigs but....

No, in my experience SIGs are just as tight in their tolerances as HKs. There is no difference whatsoever.

Blazer Brass, Winchester White Box, or Remington Green Box?

Blazer Brass is cheapest here. My WalMart has Blazer Brass 45ACP for $9.98 a box of 50.

What do you CCW in .40 cal?

SIG P229. Accept no substitutes. :D

Now I Really Need Help Choosing First 9mm!

In 9mm, I would reccommend the SIG 228 or SIGPro 2009.

    XD9 vs SIG

I think you will find the controls of the XD better laid out than the SIG 2009. Look at how far back the slide lock lever is. That is ridiculously far back IMO, no doubt an effort to mimic how far back that same control is on a classic SIG. However, using a lever with an external arm on the...

    XD9 vs SIG

I have to admit I have never fired an XD, but I have extensive experience with the SIG 229 and I find it to be superbly accurate, comfortable to shoot, naturally pointing and absolutely reliable. I wouldn't hesistate to reccommend it to anyone who is looking to buy a 40.

    Opinions on Federal 147gr Hydra-Shok 9mm for self-defense?

Why, I use it all the time and it makes a lot more sense than bad mouthing a pretty effective round without any basis thereto.... If you use it all the time, you should have heard all the very effective ways of countering it, one of which I already told you. It's a worthless argument that...

    Opinions on Federal 147gr Hydra-Shok 9mm for self-defense?

Bet ya wouldnt wanna get shot with one now would ya? I wouldn't want to get shot with a 22 Short either, but I would be unlikely to carry it for self defense. Please try something a bit more original.

    Opinions on Federal 147gr Hydra-Shok 9mm for self-defense?

I don't think much of subsonic 147 grain 9mm ammo in general. It's the worst of both worlds IMHO...slow and small.

    Springer or Kimber ??

Kimbers are "tightened", the SA milspec an loaded models aren't. When you tighten a weapon beyond milspecs, you reduce reliability in the field. That eliminated Kimber from my safe Stuff and nonsense.
