I think you can only get a conversion to 45 schofeild or 38 long colt for 51&60's i think the cylinders are to short for 45colt but 45ACP probley would fit if you can find a cylinder
I use 5 grains red dot under a 200grain OGT lazer cast semi wadcutter with remington brass and CCI #300 primers for my smokeless 45colt loads fun to shoot and easy to clean. I'll save the black stuff for my 51:D Oh and I use a $15 lee classic hand loader to make the load mentioned above.
yeah but then you do have to go through a FFl but if you do the conversion your self no FFL required cost more but the goverment cant take away your gun if they dont know you have it and its more fun to shoot a gun you built.

well VTI and DGW are both out of stock on the latch but I didnt cancel my order. I used the Epoxy for now. I closed the loading lever and tried as hard a I could to pop the post out and its still in thare If it comes out before I can get the new latch I might try some solder

"Putting the dovetail in exactly the right place" is the only part I'm worried about and as for gun smiths they are few and far between around here the closest one to me is 70 plus years old and just quit doing and real smithing beacuse of a stroke :(
I already orderd the latch but I think your right i should try to epoxy it first and then if it falls out and gets lost "cause that what happens" i will be all set to fix it with the dovetail latch
ok now is the dovetail on the latch a 3/8 dovetail I hope it is beacuse i would really like to use this http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=720537 shure beats the hell out of a $40 file :)
