Funny thing.....My wife is from California- the Bay area at that- and I told her about this. I also reminded her about all of the other laws regarding "assault weapons" including the non-fixed stock issue. I said that an adjustable stock had to be pinned. She said, "Well what if a bigger guy is...
Broc...Good info and nice write-up. As far as why Bushy didn't provide the armor it's because they own EOTech (or vice-versa I don't remember) and want you to buy EOTech if you want the armored version. The EOTech armor shells you can buy won't even work with the Bushy, but the technology is the...
Well for a range toy your good to go. Let us know how it shoots after 500 or so rounds. Enjoy!
I forgot to add.....BE CAREFUL.....Now that you built your first AR the bug should kick in soon. You will find that the AR building is a never-ending quest, or as the wife says, money pit. Good...
It depends on the model. I know that EOTech is fogproof, waterproof, shock proof, and can withstand extreme temps. Each one is tested before sold (1600 g force/ in 1 millisecond). They are typically waterproof from 10 ft to 66 ft, depending on the model. They average about 33 feet. As far as my...
Ok, my last post I posted before your last one was up so I didn't see it yet. I think we are in agreement. Like I say I highly recommend the Bushnell Holosight. Great value and essentially an EOTech without the armor.
Which ones and why? How do they compare to the industry standard sights? I am assuming you have extensive experience with either EOTech, Aimpoint, Trijicon, or other top of the line "red dot" so as to compare. Tell us why the less than $100 red dots are "just as good as." I always love when...
Wrong again. I said it depends on the application and needs of the user. I said if you are using it to punch paper then anything you like is fine. I think we are misunderstanding parallax. With the EOTech there is no parallax. That is, if you can see the dot, it is on the target no matter what...
Hmmm. Good point. I suppose we can throw in triggers and stocks too while we're at it. As per current law it is our rights to have such, though. And lets not give anyone any cute ideas. maybe we should delete these last few posts on this thread?
Just to update. I did indeed replace the Tapco with a GG&G VFG. Wow, now that one seems awesome. Locks up tight, has the storage, seems strong, but is the lightest I've seen yet. After 500 rounds or so we will see.
Technology- EOTech is only one to offer holographic technology besides bushnell. Bushnell has no armor to protect it from abuse, however. Holographic technology allows complete true parallax-free optics.
Quality control- which cheapo Chinese made red dot has the same quality control as...
Guys, its pretty clear. If the gun is a paper puncher or safe queen then put any scope on it you are happy with. Hell even bubba the hell outta the gun. The point is pretty simply that if the gun will ever be picked up potentially in a defensive situation, is a duty weapon, will be used at...
Just think.....This could happen at the worst moment. For me it is also a huge piece of mind. How would you like to think every time you pick up the rifle....Is this thing going to turn on, how much battery do I have left, is it holding zero still, and will today be the day it breaks. No way.
I disagree. First, it depends on your usage. If the gun will ever possibly be used for defense, then no, cheaper is not better. The thing with getting a lot of those "cheaper" red dots is that you may get one that holds zero and doesn't self destruct, but you run the risk of getting the same...
I am looking at going to a lighter, but economical tac light in the Surefire g3. I found a nice mount at gg&g for 17 bucks. Now I would need a pressure switch. Any ideas here as to what to get and where to get it. Needs to be quality. Thanks.
Thanks guys. I looked into the Magpul, but it doesn't have the storage. I think I am going to go with the GG&G vertical foregrip. They make such great stuff and it has the storage, seems solid, and is priced well. Any opinions on GG&G??? I don't see too much about their VFG.
