I too reload for 40 S&W. I use the same load data for lead and plated. However for jacketed bullets I used different data. Try to find the lead data for that powder and bullet combo. Work your way up from there. Be safe.

Forgot to add that I use both the MBC idp5 and the Berry's 180 gr flat point.

Just to add my 2 cents. I use 6.0 of power pistol with this bullet. Got that from this site. Thanks to those who shared with me.

So far Power Pistol in 40 has been good to me with 155 gr XTP and 180 gr Lead MBC. Trying HS6 right now, haven't been to the range yet with it.

Don't think I would ever make tracers. Was just curious. I just don't want to be that creative.:) I did look it up and definitely not some thing for me. Anyway, With these hollow base bullets, does the COL change or should I just use my normal 1.125". thanks

Thanks for the replies. Good to know that I dont have to pull hairs out to use them. :) atonguis - Have you ever made tracers before. I know that there is a product that is a sticker you can put on the base of a bullet and it is a tracer. What other ways can you do that? do you have any links?

any one have any experience with Berry's .40 Cal 155gr HBRN with either Power Pistol or HS6? Pick up the wrong box at Sportsmans. Have not used hollow base bullets before. any quirks or concerns?

Has anyone used these bullets in a 40 S&W before? I have a Ruger SR40 and am considering carrying it as a side arm while hunting deer, here in Colorado. I would have a rifle with me for the actual hunting but wanted to have a backup just in case. I realize that a 40 S&W in not a hunting caliber...

Looking for around 950 fps. Something for plinking at the range. Do you have a better suggestion for a good plinking speed? Advise is always welcome :)

That would explain the lack of 165's on the shelves at my local stores. I have the 150s and 180s in my stock. When I find the 165s I'll pick some up. thanks again
