Not quite a dog attack but VERY close

If you want to establish a paper trail of problems with this dog, but don't want to involve authorities (I understand not wanting LE being involved in your life), I would also recommend sending the dog's owner a certified letter explaining the situation. Mention exact dates of encounters if you...

    Looking for .22 revolver, ideas?

I'm looking for a .22 LR revolver so I can go the range even when my wallet is a little light. Hoping i could find one used for around $200. Does anyone know of any that usually go for around this much? This gun is strictly for plinking, so not wanting to drop a lot of cash on something fancy.

    Dog Bit My Son

I don't know about that now. Though the toddler may have provoked the dog by prodding, if the dog was off leash in his property, I would still fault the dog for this. A toddler isn't really responsible for his actions and the child was on the family's property, where the dog was roaming free. If...

    Concealed means concealed

I really didn't expect this much discussion when I originally asked the question, but this thread has been very interesting. Honestly, I wasn't trying convince anyone one way or the other, but was asking purely for academic and mental entertainment. Hope anyone didn't get too emotionally...

    Concealed means concealed

As far as the police example is concerned, a store owner could just as easily ask a police officer to disarm before entering just like any other customer. As far as warrants are concerned, not really the same case. The police do not need any permissions from the owner to execute a warrant, so...

    Concealed means concealed

If this were so, the 2nd amendment would be the only one protected in other people's businesses. Currently, people cannot say what they want in a store, should that be protected as well? Many bars and nightclubs perform pat downs and use metal detectors. Should we be protected from this search...

    Concealed means concealed

I'm inclined to agree with Owen (again!). I think ADA and protected classes in businesses are unjust infringements on property owner rights. If someone wants to open KKK grocery in my town, go ahead. I won't shop there and won't associate with the owners, and if some sort of community...

    Concealed means concealed

I'm not too sure that i agree that a store open to the public is the same as a public place, such as the sidewalk or a park. The store owner's rights and your right to protect yourself never truly come into conflict, because the alternative of not visiting that store usually exists (barring...

    Concealed means concealed

Owen, i agree with you. I pretty much figured everyone felt this way, it seems obvious. But the phrase "concealed means concealed" keeps popping up, so hence my question...

    Concealed means concealed

I've been seeing the phrase "concealed means concealed" quite a bit on the forum in regards to carrying a CCW into places that would rather not have weapons inside their buildings. Legalities of carry and signeage aside, do you folks thinks it is moral (ethical) to carry a weapon into a place...

Picked up my FNP 45 USG

I think you will be very happy with FNP-45. I have the standard version in two tone, and though i don't have much firearms experience, it's my favorite among those that I have ever shot. I don't think Trijicon makes night sights for these yet, but ameriglo does.

CCW doulbe stack .380: Beretta 84 vs. CZ-83

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll probably end up going with the CZ, just because I like the look and history behind it and I would enjoy owning it. The beretta is probably the superior weapon, but I'm not sure if the price justifies the slight differences.

CCW doulbe stack .380: Beretta 84 vs. CZ-83

Hello folks, Been looking for a CCW pistol in .380 and have come to the conclusion that a double stack .380 will work best for me. I have seen both the beretta 84 and CZ-83 as popular options and want to know if you all have any experiences or opinions of the two. Specifically, I am not...

    Sig p232 as CCW. Experience/opinions?

Thanks a lot folks, just the kind of reviews i expected of a sig. Now my only problem is whether to go small and thin with the sig 232, or a little bigger and more capacity with the beretta cheetah. Not a terrible problem to have i admit :D

    Attacker gives up?

At least in SC, security guards can and often do make arrests that are 100% legal. They are granted the authority of a sheriff's deputy while on patrolled grounds. I imagine many states have something similar. Additionally, SC has a castle doctrine that extends to automobiles, homes, and places...

    Sig p232 as CCW. Experience/opinions?

Hello folks, I'm looking at purchasing a 380 for concealed carry when i turn 21 in a month and apply for my permit (i love asking my government for permission). Anyone have any experience with the sig p232? This gun is on the short list and probably be the one I end up getting, but wanted to...

self defense options for 18 year olds

Agree with others, check local laws for age of possession in your state. However, if legal, go ahead an get a pistol. I'm under 21 and living off campus as well, I have privately bought two pistols now, including a nearly-new FNP-45, so there is no reason you can't get a top quality pistol...

Wood Hogue grips for Taurus PT-92 - Don't fit out of box!

Hello shooters, I recently ordered some Hogue wood grips for my decocker only Taurus PT-92 and they do not fit properly out of the box. The relief on the right grip for the trigger bar is not wide enough for my model, causing pressure on the trigger bar and reliability problems with the...
