Are there any 38 super fan out around ?

Hey david, I am so glad you can still enjoy your shooting hobby so screw the spelling, we can live with it. I live with medical problems too but that does not define me, I define me. Carry on my friend.

S&W views on their MIM parts

I have both new and old S&W's and the new ones as much better built and tested. If old guns are so great go back to Colt SSA, think that metal is nearly as good as modern metallurgy can produce??? it's all in your head to the "old is better" school of thought. It's good we can all buy what we...

    Best years for a 686 ?

The current 686's have the best metallurgy and hardest steel of the series. There is a tiny keyhole for the security lock but I just leave it off. Excellent balance and very accurate guns. These are done on all new machinery at S&W and I have no idea why the nostalgia makes one think the older...

How does the condition of this revolver look?

I'd go with an S&W just because I think they are better quality. That said, if it is a budget issue do what you have to do, that is how a low round Taurus will look.

    New Colt 1911 is here!

Just send it back, Colt is excellent with customer service in my experience. I just bought a series 70 from years ago and it it so nice and machined very well, everything is in alignment. I do prefer the older models for that reason.

I bought the Python, now how to refinish?

In 2005 Colt charged me $200 plus my shipping fee to them for the Nickel job, they shipped it back to me no charge. Don't know if they will do that again, but I'd jump on it if they did. I spoke to a Paul there at the shop, maybe he's still there. Any other gun I'd chrome, not a Python, but...

I bought the Python, now how to refinish?

I had my nickel Python refinished by Colt a couple of years ago and it looks new and the finish is perfect! Best money I ever spent. If you do a search on here I posted pic's. I'd use Colt first for sure, that will keep the value up too. Colt even replaced springs and screws at no charge and its...

    Obama-phobia on THR

The ONLY good thing Obama can do is suck some life from the Hillary campaign and throw things in favor of another demo-rat, or the republican candidate, who may or may not be any better. Another bad choice election is looming on the horizon again. :uhoh:

    Buy Cheap Ammo Online

I use IE7 and just ordered from Sportsmans Warehouse, no pop-ups and the ammo prices were good, the shipping was $17 for 500 rounds of .38 special and 500 rounds of 45 ACP. There is a control called a pop-up blocker, works for me. BTW, ID10T is the first thing new tech's learm in school, the...

Who would buy a new DW??

I just bought a DW model 15-2 with the 6" fluted barrel that was made in Monson Mass. in 1981. It was NIB from my local gun shop, the owner is retiring and selling some of his personal stock. I ordered the VH barrels in 6" and 4" and I'm thrilled so far with it.

    Novice wanting to buy AR-15

$770 for which brand and in what condition? There are so many excellent AR-15 manufacturer's these days with Colt, RRA and Bushmaster to name just a few of the better ones. Which is best opens up a big can of worms so let each shooter choose and enjoy the one they prefer. You lost me on the...

    Theoretical

Hell where I live you'd get arrested for just looking at one. :what: And as for the $200 tax staying the same, aren't full auto's like 10K to buy now? Kind of makes up for the low tax. Imagine what it'll be like in 2008 if the she-devil, Lord Hillary, becomes Prez??? :( We'll all be up the...

Really bad ammo! See what happened!

Ironic, its the most talked about ammo by far on any gun board, yet it is so inconsistent why would anyone bother using it. Its for kids and cheapskates. :neener:

First Accidental Discharge, feeling pretty bad

Funny but the only ones who say that are ones that did it.......

First Accidental Discharge, feeling pretty bad

Tripping and falling so your gun goes off is an accident, checking trigger creep on a KNOWN loaded weapon is INSANE. There is a difference, its not OK, its not something that should ever happen, and as others have said, if you can't be safe with your weapon you shouldn't have one, period.

    A Suggestion To You All

Beautifully put in perspective Fosbery, you chaps have far more draconian gun laws, we should be glad for what we have, AND protect it. I joined the NRA to help keep the right to bare arms in America, all gun enthusiasts really ought to join too. The guns we save will be our own. :)

First Accidental Discharge, feeling pretty bad

Well then, would you say there is a difference between an accident and a "stupid, needless, careless, no-need-to -have-happened accident?" As in this case. :banghead:

First Accidental Discharge, feeling pretty bad

Big difference to me is, if you have a discharge through a handling misshap its bad but a true accident. You cannot compare that to pulling a trigger on a loaded gun to see how the trigger feels, thats irresponsible and no slack should be given. I am 100% with "feedthehogs" please don't include...
