I am huge fan of vent ribs on shorter barreled guns so naturally I love it.

    CZ 75 questions

I agree with the statements on the Kadet Kit. I have one for my SP01 and it is amazingly accurate. I was plinking bottles at 50 yrds with it, despite the crappy trigger on the SP01.

    POF consensus?

My only experience was with the 5.56 version. I found it to be very muzzle heavy before they added the heat sink barrel nut. Keep in mind this was with the carbine length Predator rail. I cannot imagine what a full length rail modern version feels like. That said, there are numerous people on...

Anyone prefer no tube extension on HD shotgun?

I absolutely prefer extensions on my shotguns. Justin nailed it in an earlier post when he stated some people shoot their guns like a large bore rifle rather than a bird gun. I have patterned my gun enough to know that it behaves like a large bore rifle rather than a bird gun at in house...

870 pump - long vs short forend

I prefer the longer forearms except for how they interfere with a side saddle. Unloading with a longer forearm is only slightly more complicated as you have to press both latches to get the round out instead of just one.

    In Defense of Mossberg Pumps

I am an 870 guy at heart but there are a few Mossberg ideas I wish Remington would incorporate. I like the non-staked shell latches for ease of service and refinishing of the receiver. I like (on the 20" 590) the barrel support ring which eliminates the need for a mag clamp. I like how the...

    Has anyone altered ..........

Please post pics. I miss my Taurus 85. The grips on it were far superior to the ones on my 442.

Where to shoot rifles in Northern Illinois

If you are in Joliet, then Buffalo is not a bad place to go. You are 30+ miles closer to Buffalo than I am. I am also a member at the ASC which is a bit of a drive for me as well.

    Taurus Model 94

The 94ss4 I used to own had what had to be a 20lb trigger pull. It also had tooling marks that looked like a wolverine grabbed it.

    Pumps

The smoothest I have ever tried was a Winchester 1300 followed by a Benelli NOVA H2O

RGUNS? Has anyone here ever bought from them before?

I have only dealt with them in person and never had any problems.

One type of action-slide for 870?

Replacing the bolt is not necessary. There was a change to the bolt that came with the flex tab conversion but it will not prevent you from using a pre-flex tab bolt on the new slide and forearm.

One type of action-slide for 870?

Yes, the pre-Flex Tab slides are different (number of notches where the slide meets the action bars). However, if you order the part in the link you posted you should be fine as you are getting both halves of what has changed.

How could anybody not like the Ruger P95?

I had one. It was reliable but that is the best thing I could say about it. It is too large for what it is, the trigger wasn't that great, and I always forgot to push the ejector down when trying to take it apart.

Finally scored a Robinson M96. (Pics Inside)

That only happens when the user does not tighten the barrel enough. Like the MRP and the SCAR, the is a torque spec for the bolt that retains the barrel on the XCR. If you follow this spec, the barrel stays tight. There are people for whom this is just too hard and I seriously hope they call a...
