You have to assume that the vast majority of those claiming to have fewer than 100 rounds through their guns are lying. Really, how many gun listings do you see where the seller claims to have 8,000 rounds fired? I can maybe see someone selling something like a Remington 700 or something...

What is the purpose of having this gun? Do you want to be able to access it quickly? Or just have it handy in case you feel like pulling over and firing some rounds off?

I'm tempted by this Mini-14 Target version mainly because I'm thinking of moving to an AWB area and this gun seems to be compliant and I know the Minis have a great reputation for reliability. I haven't seen much of a used market for these guns but I see that CDNN has them right now for $699...

Agreed. There are so many reasons to own a shotgun. Cheap ammo, suitable (and some would say ideal) for home defense, no worries about legality, and loads of fun to shoot.

Big Five is kind of a strange store in terms of selection. It is definitely not a gun store, but you can find good deals. I just bought a Mosin from them a few weeks ago for under $100. They did have some GREAT deals on knives when I was in there. I wouldn't just walk in expecting deals...
