The notion that a physician would be any less of a physician if he carried a weapon is foolish at best.

The savage is far easier to work on yourself. Barrel changes are a 5 minute affair which require only a vise and a wrench.
There's a ton of aftermarket products out there as well.
I've been impressed with savages that I've owned and shot......doubt I'll ever buy Remington again.
I've had the UTL for 5-6 years now......numerous range sessions.......thousands of rounds through the gun with the light attached.......with no issues whatsoever.
That said, I own several surefire lights, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again.
Despite my good experience with the UTL...
My favorite folder to date is the Kershaw blur. I carried spyderco's and benchmade while in the Marines.......but this Kershaw has outlasted them all.....and done it with style.
The assisted opening is the best thing since sliced bread.
My only minor complaint is that the handle material...
I just recently bought 2 consecutive serial numbered lowers from essential arms.
I've built up the 1st one....and had no issues with it.
I wouldn't hesitate to use their lowers again.

Yeah.....I second the ishot recommendation. For the money, you get a whole lot of bag......and it's tough as hell. Definitely won't regret that purchase.
HK makes an extremely reliable platform in the USP. The ergonomics are a little large for some, but I think they're great weapons.
At that price......get one and find out for yourself!
I actually did have occasion to take sightron up on their warranty.....bought a used one cheap on ebay......when I got it, it looked like someone had unscrewed the objective lens housing, and didn't put it back on right.....there were scratches and marks on the objective end.....looked like...
