    Ruger and Glasers

A lighter bullet will have less momentum, so it will stop quicker on impact, all else being equal. Hollowpoints also stop sooner than fmj's or sp's, because they use up some of their energy on bullet expansion, again, all else being equal. I think your best bet is probably Hornady's 110...

Pick a Revolver from TV or Movie

Charlie Prince's .45 Schofields from 3:10 to Yuma. I want one of those like you would not believe, but the bills need to get paid before I go buying any more guns.

looking for first ccw pistol, suggestions (i know, i know)

I was looking at a German police surplus SIG P6 at the gun shop the other day, they wanted about $400 for it. It was in good shape, and seemed like a nice enough gun, you might want to give one like it a serious look. I ended up leaving with a S&W 5906, but I didn't care about single vs...

    I gotta stop doing this...

Well, I did it. I had told myself that my Ruger Blackhawk was going to be the last gun for a while. I told myself I didn't need any more. Then I did something stupid. I walked into a gun shop. I was there to buy ammo for the aforementioned Ruger, and that's when I saw it. A Smith &...

Do you feel under gunned with a revolver?

There are few men out there who can take a cylinder full of .45 LC to the chest and still be a threat to me. If it was my job to apprehend dangerous criminals, then I might be inclined to take advantage of a service auto's higher capacity, but as a civilian in a relatively safe area, I don't...

Best value in SA revolver for carry

I picked up my Blackhawk for $430, brand new, a few weeks ago. Mine's in 45 Colt, and I like it, but you may consider .357 as well. Nothing wrong with the Vaquero either, I just preferred the sights on the Blackhawk. The Beretta Stampede is reportedly a well made piece, and I've had good luck...

    CCW Gun -frustrated need suggestions

As far as super-concealable pocket guns go, you could look into a NAA mini revolver in 22 mag. Good penetration, but I don't have any experience to tell you what the trigger is like. I've got a Beretta 21A in 25 Auto that's been mechanically 100% reliable, but the round isn't very energetic...

    a good revolver for 300 - 450 $

Good for what, exactly? For a woods gun, I'd say a new Ruger Blackhawk. For concealed carry, you'd likely be better off with a gently used SP-101 or a J-frame S&W.

Does anyone conceal carry their single actions?

I've only had my Blackhawk for a few days, but I do intend to use it for ccw eventually. I'm looking at a Tom Threepersons holster from El Paso Saddlery. I traded off my Beretta 96 to buy the Blackhawk in 45 Colt for one of the reasons listed here by CraigC, namely that the single action can...
