    IMR 3031 vs 8208 for .308Win

All your questions about velocity and pressure are listed in your manuals or on the manufacturer website. Also for a quick reference use a Powder Burn Rate Chart. They are listed by fastest to slowest. From what I've read and the people I talked to when working up loads for my .300...

Lee classic turret press trouble shooting thread

I'm taking all my Lee presses apart including my new LCT and powder coating anything not all ready covered that will not inhibit the function of the press. Here in Western WA there is constant humidity and it takes a toll on your bare metal parts. Doesn't matter what or how much oil I've...

Alternate method What necesitates the need to use the FCD over the seating and crimp die? I loads about 1K .45 ACP and 9mm a month on my Lee Pro 1000 and hundreds of other calibers. The only time I use the FCD is to remove the belling on my rifle rounds to add neck tension to the bullets...

    Finally started (pic heavy)

I was goinng to say, "Looks nice but I think I saw a Lee product in that cabinet!" :neener: No one has ever been successful using Lee products so that one die just ruined all your other gear! Joking of course! I'm jealous, one day I'll have a reloading/casting room. When I build...

    Considering reloading. Newbie questions

Lee precision has refurbished Classic cast turret presses marked down to $82 not including shipping. It's big enough for longer .30 cal rounds so you're .308 will fit fine and will still be able to use the auto indexing feature. This would be a better deal though for someone starting out...

    Removing lead from bore

http://www.lasc.us/Fryxell_Book_Chapter_7_Leading.htm Another reccomendation I recently read on castboolits.gunloads.com is to take an old coper bore brush that has a loose fit and is kind of wore out for that caliber. Use a single wrap of cotton patch around the brush (Or more to get a good...

Plunk Test - OAL and Leading ?s

http://www.lasc.us/Fryxell_Book_Chapter_7_Leading.htm This is probably the single best information on leading. If you have it bad enough to cause a problem you will know it. If you cannot see any issues looking in your bore you're fine. Are you shooting commercial cast, or your own cast...

    Parts for Lee Safety Prime?

If you need Lee replacement parts most of the time you can get them from: www.fsreloading.com www.titanreloading.com I checked they do not carry the springs in this instance. But I've gotten many parts from both sites. Prices are the same as Lee Precision site but shipping is usually cheaper.

    Prepping Brass

http://www.ch4d.com/equipment/case-tools/psk I've not tried one but it can't be worse than the RCBS that I use on the military 9mm brass that I have 5 thousand of. I've talked to a couple people that say they like it better and is a little faster than the RCBS.

    New cases splitting - why?

Its easy to make old used brass look like new. It takes about 4 hours with a tumbler and stainless steel pins. For $3 a box I'd cut my losses and not risk damage to the guns. It'll be cheaper and easier on your mental state to get better brass.

Lee Customer Service/ Bad Game of Twister

I've had a couple warranty returns to Lee. All have been positive. Even if it is something that I had a hand in messing up. Not once have they questioned me or denied to fix anything. My father who does not trust the internet has sent me some Lee products that broke on him to look at. After...

    Lee Reloader Press...

I've used the newer Lee 4 hole auto index press and have ran 500 9mm with the RCBS pocket swage kit. It did the job with no issues. Make sure your press is securely bolted down and you'll like the RCBS swage kit a lot better. I contemplated getting this kit as well as I think it may be a...

Lee Challenger SS Press for decapping

I've used the Lee SS press, the turret and the pro 1000 all for decapping. I have way less issues with the SS press than the other two. I did a run of 300 9mm last night depriming on my turret press. Maybe 20 out of 100 went in the hole. I tried the aluminum can strip on my pro 1000 and I...

    $700...get me started in reloading

I started reloading on a Lee breach lock challenger press single stage. I now have two LBLCP, one Lee Pro 1000, and a Lee 4 hole auto index turret press. Different tools, have different jobs. I can't swage out military crimped primer pockets on the Lee 1000, but I can use the SS press or the...
