    Shooting down at a target

This is assuming you are aiming at specific targets and not just spraying bullets against a lot of targets. In which case you just start spraying and watch which targets are falling and adjust accordingly. There's a difference between shooting downhill at an elk and wildly firing at many...

possible legislation to ban bump stocks

Okay I am out of here. I have said my piece: The bump fire stock is a piece of dangerous crap. I would rather trade it for something like a national CCW permit. Over and out :)

possible legislation to ban bump stocks

As long as we won't give an inch, even when it is in the spirit of the existing law... we can forget about a national CCW permit. If anything these last 8 years should have taught us all is that if you can not work in a non partisan way on legislation, it is as meaningless as the next changing...

possible legislation to ban bump stocks

Straw man arguments. No such bill exists. All that is being suggested is banning devices that convert weapons into simulating fully automatic fire by adding an external device.

possible legislation to ban bump stocks

So you believe that the existing regulation of fully automatic weapons is an infringement of your basic inalienable rights, and you should not have to comply with it? The government regulating fully automatic weapons, bombs, nuclear devices, anything you desire to have in armaments is...

possible legislation to ban bump stocks

A failed argument - the existing lawful regulation of fully automatic weapons was being circumvented by these crappy toys. We're not giving up anything of value we legally and lawfully use - we're simply acknowledging that Obama did a crappy job with the ATF on this one. And we ask for...

possible legislation to ban bump stocks

Which is exactly why we give ground on the bump stock in exchange for something more valuable, like a national CCW permit. The bump stock is a crap toy that is impossible to make a reasonable use argument for. Unlike large capacity magazines. So use that to our advantage and let them scapegoat...

possible legislation to ban bump stocks

And that should be especially easy when it was something that only existed as a way to circumvent existing regulations, and in doing so made something even more dangerous than the original item, the full auto lower, which is at least controllable and has selective fire. I can't believe anybody...

possible legislation to ban bump stocks

We can make up any wish list we like, but in the end if they are banned there will be a grace period to turn them into local authorities, and thereafter if you are caught with one the penalty will be the same as being caught with an auto-fire seer. There is no way the registry is going to be...

Firearms used in Las Vagas Massacre

I think it might mean the bump stock gets re-evaluated.

Does this sound like a scam?

I bought some black powder pistols on gunbroker, from another local. Contacting him to arrange to give him cash for the guns, he wrote me back that he could only accept a USPS money order or cashiers check, and he'd have to wait for it to clear before giving me the firearms. I could meet him in...

Cylinder bushings stuck in Cimarron SAA

Just a little bit o follow up: I did get them out with a brass rod and some very light tapping. Then I cleaned them.. there was some rust unfortunately. Everything's good now, and they are a slip fit. I got help from the SASS wire, where the consensus from the cowboy action shooting crowd was...

    Baikal Coach Shotgun disassembly

I have a new Baikal Coach Gun MP220 and I'm doing the cowboy action shooting mods listed here. I only ever intend to use this for SASS CASS events, so don't worry I don't plan to use this as a home defense or hunting gun. If somebody has worked on these shotguns (same as Remington Spartan)...

Cylinder bushings stuck in Cimarron SAA

Sounds good Jim. You do what works for you. As for me concerning black powder, I'll be cleaning the cylinder bushings. Thanks a bunch. :p

Cylinder bushings stuck in Cimarron SAA

I used the concoction, I had ATF and acetone in my garage. "They are supposed to be tight enough to 'prevent' the cylinder from turning on them. But loose enough they can be slipped out for cleaning or easy replacement." As for the function of the cylinder bushing, I guess I do not know...

Cylinder bushings stuck in Cimarron SAA

Hey KP, that did the job. They're all popped out. Thanks for the tip!

Cylinder bushings stuck in Cimarron SAA

The bushings should be removed and cleaned. The cylinder should rotate on the bushing, not the base pin. Just like a real Colt SAA. If you've shot BP you really don't want to leave it in that gap - it will not only jam your bushing, it will slowly erode your cylinders center hole.

Cylinder bushings stuck in Cimarron SAA

I picked up a pair of used Model P Cimarrons, they have the cat 537 written on the box... they were a deal (I thought) at $700 for the pair from the used gun room of cabelas. Unfortunately they would not let me remove the base pins at the store. They did come with 45ACP conversion cylinders...
