I have an M1A Scout. It works very well if you understand how to lube an M1A.
I think the Socom is a very good design, except it is a CQB rifle and the blast is pretty bad from the short barrel and muzzle brake. And I'm not sure it can be removed. So, I bought the Scout, removed the brake and...
OK, who went to the Shot Show and got the word on Colt and Winchester closing.
Give it up. Inquiring minds want to know (and buy something if we need to).

Old people shouldn't be allowed to have a gun that big.:neener:
I hope it breaks your old shoulder, thief.:p
The posters comments about a 45/70 level load are exactly what I did for the first few years. Reduced load still makes a big splash shooting stuff like mellons. Then you hand it to...
1911 guy has a point, but I don't try to wear a belt gun working on tractors.
I use a 642 in the pocket doing any kind of heavy labor, and a cross draw holster for the bush hog. It works as well on tractors as it does in cars.
The guns do get dusty if it hasn't rained, so I use Glocks or...
If you aren't going to practice with it on a reasonably regular basis (say at least once a month), clean and lube it at regular intervals, change springs at the appropriate interval, run a few hundred duty rounds through it to verify reliability, etc, etc, go with the revolver. Semi-auto's...
Sounds like you've checked it out well for your gun/situation.
Since you are going to do it anyway, the toter jeans might be perfect for you, if a little pricey.
I was just a little more nervous with a 5# Glock trigger and no manual safety.
Nobody is taking this personal - just good...
I used to carry "Mexican carry" too. Heard too many cases of people with AD's. Not sure if it was an AD due to the carry being insecure, or AD due to the finger on the trigger, but I try not to use it anymore. As you can see from the above post, I would use it in an emergency.
"not sure how" it...
OK, I feel like the idiot.....I found the instructions on the back of the shipping receipt/bill.
The way he wants the holster to work is for the gun to ride on the pocket, not in it, with the grip catching the edge of the pocket so it doesn't fall down into the pocket.
As a way of primary...
We don't need anything that doesn't solve a problem.
My wife regularly sews up my Walmart jean pockets from keys poking holes in the pockets.
If IWB works best for you, great. But I prefer to go without the vest when I can (it's hot down here), the untucked shirt sometimes flashes the gun...
Ummmmmmmm............
Well, I just got 2 pairs and don't have a lot of experience with them yet.
They are well made.
The concept of no holster scares me, so I tried holsters. I don't think the gun would go off in a pocket, but I don't plan to find out.
I didn't find that the cordura helped...
