Which one is a better 1911, Ruger or Remington ?

I think fit and finish is maybe a little better on the ruger. They are set up well and ready to go right out of the box. I am also seeing them regularly for $649 outstanding value!

    .357 Magnum for Self Defense?

I have carried my 327 for several years now with NO issues. Light weight, lots of rounds, what is not to love?

    Double-Tap (Handgun)

They are a fairly large gun for a 2 shot derr. For the same price you can pick up an LCR in .38 and be MUCH better served! My Kimber Solo is 7rds of 9mm and is smaller than the DT (and it goes bang every time).

    Negligent Discharge at Gunshow...

I was at the Los Angeles county gun show back in the mid 90's (8 MILESof tables) and a fellow fired off a 380 about 2 aisles across from me. Security detained him and I kept shopping. What an idiot!

Just got a random call from Ruger!

I used the "ask the CEO" feature a few weeks ago. Gave them my idea about a varmint rifle configuration. I got a lengthy/detailed reply. I was impressed!

    Norinco 1911

Had my ffl back in the 80's and paid $200 delivered. Great guns out of very high quality steel. One of the few guns that all of the custom smiths would work on back in the day.

    Finally got my Wolf!

As many of you know I have been a hunter for 40 years and have taken all sorts of game. During that time I have always had a passion for predator hunting. They can be hunted year round and I think they are probably the most challenging animals to pursue. Over time I have hunted and taken bears...

    Win model 64 25-35 value?

Buddy of mine has one of these that was purchased new by his father in 1943/44? Serial # is 133XXX which shows 1943 to 1948. He wants to sell it but is not a "gun guy" and I don't know enough about Winchesters to advise him on value. It is in good condition with no rust, good wood and has a...

    M&P 340 vs Ruger LCR

Ruger LCR hands down over my various pocket smiths!

    Norinco 1911

I bought one NIB when they first came out. Still have the receipt for $199. All forged frame/slide. Shoots like a champ and has been said before, one of the few guns (other than Colt) that the big names like Wilson, Swenson etc. would work on back in the day. I should have bought a dozen of them!

    Limbsaver Recoil Pads?

I have limbsavers on all of my heavy rifles. I used deceleraters for a long time but they are not even close in recoil reduction. On typical rifles like 30-06,7mm etc you wont notice much difference but on both my .450NE's and my .416 the limbsaver makes them "almost" fun to shoot.

Need advice for CCW pistol for my Mother

For a "non-gun" type person who has to ask what kind of weapon to get, there is only one good answer and that would be a small frame REVOLVER. Cylinder is easily checked to determine if loaded, pull trigger go bang! To many things to think about with autos if they are not well trained shooters...

Anyone use a "belly band" for their CCW?

Can you draw while seated (say at a desk) with a smart carry, or is it kind of folded into your lap below your waistband?

Kimber has a job opening for a gun designer

Let it be known that I also would be interested in hiring a qualified firearms designer to rework my Kimber Pro CDP into a reliable firearm. Currently it goes bang 30-40 times then a failure to feed with HARDBALL! $1,000 down the drain. So much for finest, most reliable or whatever that...

    Colt Combat Python, 3" barrel

Highly desirable pistol in near mint condition and very low production numbers. He will probably get his price. Like land, they are not making any more of it!

    45acp for personal defense

If it shoots hardball with no issues, but will not reliably chamber HP rounds then you can always use the tried and true method of chambering a hollow point and then carrying a mag full of ball. In a fight,1st round is HP and reliable ball for all the rest. Might work for you! I would...

    Firearm Bill of Sale

Its sad but I won't BUY any gun without a bill of sale from the seller. To much of a chance that somewhere along the way a gun may have been reported as stolen. I do not want to be contacted by law enforcement who at some point run the serial number, discover the gun stolen and I can only...

What ideal 10mm ammo for wood defence in WA state

I carry my Glock 20 loaded with Double Tap 200gr as my constant woods gun around the ranch. I think the hardcast 200gr, with its deep, straight line penetration is about the perfect round for this gun. Lions are softer targets than bears but don't let anybody fool you into thinking they are so...
