    Remington 721 Experiences and opinions

I have 2 in .270 and 1 in 30.06. All good shooter's. However, they have no family history. They were bought at an auction. I had a 725 that I stupidly sold years back. Anyway, I had one of the .270's re-barreled for a 25.06. The smith did some magic on the trigger. Usually get at least two...

    25-06 Suggestions

I bought my first .25-06 after a motorcycle accident left me in bad shape for the upcoming deer season, (1980). I was shooting a 7mm Mag at the time and I knew that wasn't going to cut it. Boy, was the .25 a surprise. I still have and it isn't going anywhere. Right now I'm about a month away...

    Just had LASIK. Wow.

Had mine done in 2000.Finally had to get glasses again last year. Still had plenty, "left" for another procedure but opted not too. It was great while it lasted but, it made, (for me) night driving a real hazard. The light halos were bad. It took about 6-9 months for my eyes to really stablize...

New to mouth calls, am I doing it right?

Sounds pretty good. I use the jackrabbit call, (in my area) and it's a little bit more gravelly. Also, when I used to mouth call I always started out in quick excited clips. Sort of like a jack had just been caught in the teeth of Mr. Coyote.

    Scope Ring Lapping

If you do decide to lap...Don't over do it!! I've personally seen scopes on .30 rifles slip because the rings wouldn't tighten enough after over-zealous lapping. I use a ring alignment tool to align my rings and then determine if the rings need lapping. Remember it doesn't take much lapping.

    Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

The first time I went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers I thought I was going to need a bigger shirt because my chest was so puffed out!! Finally after all these years I finally had enough courage to go to the Vietnam Wall last year. A powerful place for Vietnam Vets.

    vehicle license plates

I don't have any decals on my truck. Lots of real gang members in the city. It would be just my luck that a gang member that knows how to read would get some ideas because of my gun decals!!

Checking for Incipient Case Head Separation?

Back in the 80's I was already using the paperclip on my 300 Win. cases. It worked pretty good for me. When things start happening inside the case that paperclip does a pretty good job of telling you so...Remember, at that point the cases could very well still look perfectly good from the outside.
