Thinking of buying a Walther PPS

I'm thinking of buying a Walter PSS as a BUG and for CC. Initially I heard of some jamming problems that Walther was working on. Does anyone know if this reliability issue has been resolved?

    Walther PPS

Has anyone held, fired, or carried this weapon? I've been considering it for CCW, but cannot find one to actually examine. Experiences would be welcome.:banghead:

    Ammo Price Increase

I shoot IDPA and go through 200-300 rounds per month with matches and practice. I've been using WWB with good results but my stock had run down. I shoot 9mm. Went to Wal-Mart today to begin to re-stock and the 9mm had gone up about $3 per box. Any recommendations on a replacement ammo that might...

    Long range home defense?

The scenario, as it was originally defined, was anarchy. For example, in a recent speech Newt Gingrich said our government needs to have a plan of action in the event that Atlanta, Boston and San Francisco dissapear tomorrow! I'm taking that one step further and am forming a personal plan for...

    Long range home defense?

Currently no rifle. At this point I'm heavy with pistols, XD's, Beretta's a Shotgun, Remington 1100, and am looking to add a rifle.

    Long range home defense?

Let's say there is another more advanced 911 style attack and law and order goes south for a period of time. What's the best rifle for personal and family defense?

    polymer yes or no

Don't know if you saw a recent edition of Guns & Ammo where they put an XD 9 on a grill, while cooking chicken, for 4 minutes. In the end there were some marks where the grills were directly against the polymer. When they test fired the only issue was an inability to lock the magazine. Once...

    FL-GA Border Disorder

For those of you who thought about shooting in the match, and did not, you really missed a good time. Weather was great. The stages were challenging, and everyone seemed to have a great time. Watch for next years announcement and don't miss the fun!

Kydex holster for IDPA (Hip or Paddle) ??

Be aware that many of the Uncle Mikes holsters are not IDPA legal as the spacing between the weapon and the belt is too great. You might try Blade Tech or Comp Tac. Both make IDPA legal holsters that work very well.;)

Just so we're clear on why we should vote for Democrats

Major forgotten point...If the Dems win the Senate, what type judges do you think would be appointed to the supreme court. Look at the record. If you like the Dems historical appointments, and those they've blocked, you can forget about the second amendment. They'll be able to legislate fromt he...

    FL-GA Border Disorder

I'm a member of the Firstcoast IDPA group holding the match. It was a good match last year and maxed out the 85 number of shooters we had wanted. This year we've increased the number to 100. It should be a really good match. The facility is very good and the stages should be a lot of fun, with...

    IDPA Rule Help Question

I currently shoot an XD 9 for IDPA. I'm buying another one for IDPA and am considering the bi-tone model. Is this excluded by the IDPA rule not allowing "full length dust covers of carbon or stainless steel."

Help Choosing a 9MM For IDPA????

No Contest - XD-9 The Springfield shoots in ESP, but so what. It's fast, smooth, accurate and very reliable. With a good shooter, it's the others who are at a disadvantage. One other thing. With the XD, all you have to do is draw and squeeze the trigger, the ergonomics of the grip and sights...

    newby to IDPA handgun question

Use the Beretta I shot IDPA with a Beretta 92 Centurion for some time and it was great. I've since moved to a XD-9, but one of the great things about IDPA is that it really is the shooter. You can have a lot of fun with the Beretta. I've been very pleased with a Comp-tac holster and double mag...

    Speed Loader for Springfield XD9

Thanks for the info. I'll have to see if the 941 is the same one I have for my Berettas. If so, the slight modification may be using the dremel.

    Speed Loader for Springfield XD9

I have a new XD, which I already love, but am in need of a speed loader. Everyone says the one for my Beretta 92 will work, but the magazine base for the XD9 is too thick. What have others done to solve this dilema?:banghead:

    Springfield XD for IDPA

Which barrel length do you have? Do you use it for competition?

    Springfield XD for IDPA

Not really..... I want to shoot the gun that ergonomically best fits my hands and my shooting needs. I think I'll be competitive vs. either, after a little time with the XD. At least that is the plan. I currently shoot a Beretta 92 Centurion. I really like the gun, I also have a 96 Centurion...

    Springfield XD for IDPA

I'm considering switching to an XD for IDPA. Can't decide between the 4" and 5" barrel length. Any thoughts?
