SWMBO will not allow Ballistol in the house. Switched to Frog Lube and it works just as well without the smell. just use a hair dryer to warm the gun parts.
R2LP extreme shock bullets disintegrate when they hit a wall, but have knock down power on organic targets. Pricey and a little hard to find but might be what you're looking for.

"You do not define the First Amendment. It defines you. And it is bigger than you. That's how freedom works. It also demands you do your homework. Again and again, I hear gun owners say, how can we believe anything the anti-gun media says when they can't even get the facts right? For too long...
Most kits have everything you need except dies and a gauge to check OAL - if reloading rifle, make sure your kit has a case trimmer. Carbide dies will save you time on case lubing.
The trade off with kits is that you generally save money, but everything will be the same brand and most of us...
I prefer midway but I look at sinclair and browneels and midsouth - midsouth seems to have better prices but stock is generally short. Once I find what I'm looking for though, I usually check amazon to see if they have it in stock for prime account holders - free shipping and sometimes cheaper.
Texas law says the sign prohibiting firearms must be three feet or so high - I don't recall all the particulars from my CHL class but there are requirements for that sign to be legal ...
Classic cast press is a great deal and plenty strong - you can't go wrong with that one. The dies are a great deal as well - I've got mixed feelings about some of their other gear but again, the classic cast turret and single stage presses are a great deal.
I bought the soviet corrosive ammo because I liked the 'tuna can' packaging ... just don't tell one of your kids to clean it or you'll end up with pitting on the bolt carrier like I did /P
How closely does accuracy at the range translate into accuracy in the field? If you can shoot a 3" group offhand at 50 yards, does that mean you're good to go for that deer hunt? Or will your nerves turn your skills to dirt once you're actually shooting something...
In general, you do get what you pay for - a Kimber will have better fit and finish than a Taurus - but you can find good prices on most weapons if you shop around. Buds is a good place to start (if you're buying) - know the going price of what you want to buy - then look at gunbroker, the gun...
I continue to hear that good, very accurate, digital scales are hard to come by. Since I'm an aspiring long range shooter, I'm wondering what people use to measure powder for 800+ yard shots. I want to buy a very good scale that I can use for heavy loads - something that will measure to the...
A lot of Lee products are undervalued because they are budget priced - fit and finish are not usually as good but the equipment is dependable and lasts longer than most detractors are willing to admit.
My first powder purchase was listed in my Lee reloading manual that agreed with the size and type of bullet I had already purchased: WSM (115 grain FMJ). In retrospect, that's not a bad place to start (but there are other manuals and many good resources on the internet for reloading other than...
I also started with a Lee press - in my case it was the classic cast turret. It was a great investment. Ditto on Precision Delta bullets - good stuff but there is a wait.
I looked hard at the Dillon SD and 650 - Dillons are expensive but apparently excellent as they have a very vocal following. In the end I bought a hornady lnl off amazon: $389 (cheaper than midway and still got 100 free bullets promotion). I figured with the savings I can also afford a forster...
