Water test: Two .45ACP JHPs evaluated

Yet you think you and shaka-zulu are credible in arguing with 2 PHds in physics. I am an irrigation, fire sprinkler, fire alarm and sound system designer. I design for engineers and architects and in some cases I have to correct the errors of engineers. You remind me of Pee Wee Herman...

    Fnp vs cz

My shooting partner and I did some testing with the CZ-P01 and a SIG/Sauer P-228. We're both S/S fans but the P-01 was more accurate in our testing. For a compact pistol that still has reasonable capacity the P-01 is one of the very best and boasts a NATO certification that few other...

Opinions on the XD Sub Compact in 45acp?

Let me bring some XD Talk to you as I am a member there also. There is no XD sc, the XD Service can be bought with a 4" barrel and compact grip frame. With the advances made in the XDm I would recommend you look at a XDm 3.8 Compact in .45 ACP. I have never heard of any issues like a broken...

    New XDM 5.25

Houston, we have no problem! Not in Brownwood anyway. See if you can find me on that big map of Texas. We call it heart of Texas here, but we're not the only town to make such a claim. As it happens, I was raised in Houston. Kiln, get and install a PRP trigger kit. It will at least give the...

Water test: Two .45ACP JHPs evaluated

New shooters, like yourself, are my only concern. I only posted the first time to point out the fallacy in your own tests and why the Schwartz modelling system is flawed, yet you continue to put up numbers because you like to calculate them for new shooter approval. I think you have some kind of...

Water test: Two .45ACP JHPs evaluated

Well, I already said I was done and you come behind that statement to challenge me. Regarding your last post I'll simply say this: BS! Like in most of your posts, there are errors I've found that chap your ass and that's your entire motivation. Example: shooting heavy bone with the Remington...

    reloading light .357

I never shoot anything lower than start charges in the .357 and other magnums. If I want Special loads, I shoot them in Special revolvers excepting the .41 Magnum. Not that I'm into recoil because you'll never catch me shooting .460 or 500 S&W magnums and such. ;)

Do you hand weigh your powder charge for each cartridge?

For rifle loading YES For handgun loads NO. I weigh before I start, weigh again while loading and once more when I'm finished. Not once has my Uniflow ever deviated from the original setting as I tend to lock it up pretty tight. Still don't completely trust digital scales though and still...

Feel free to proceed on with your show and tell thread! I'm done. ;)

    Malfunction Clearing

Skylerbone, a properly seated primer should be .006" below the case rim and my experience with high seated primers has been with factory loaded ammunition but I often read of high primer reports in the reloading section here and ammunition and reloading sections elsewhere. BSA1, thanks for...

Water test: Two .45ACP JHPs evaluated

Well since 481 seemingly started this thread in your behalf you're entitled to your opinion. But in the case of the last two threads that were locked, that action was taken after posts from 481 and 2zulu1 whom you seem to have no problem with or their personal attacks. ;)

Water test: Two .45ACP JHPs evaluated

Haven't written any books on the subject so I have nothing to sell. Don't think I need any endorsements. Professionally as I designer I did achieve a degree of recognition for hydraulic design principles in irrigation as well as winning a national design competition and was featured in a...

Water test: Two .45ACP JHPs evaluated

You are a master of cliches. Ad hominem attacks? rudeness? I call Roberts what he is, which is a dentist. Schwartz and MacPherson what they are, engineers. None of them have degrees in ballistics nor are they physicists. They are all disciples of Martin Fackler. Is disciple an offensive term for...

    New XDM 5.25

I have the 4.5 in .45 ACP. IT's a tackdriver and I can highly recommend the PRP trigger kit. I put mine in as soon as I bought the pistol as I had previous experience with an XD TAC in .40 S&W. ;)

    Malfunction Clearing

Ultimately I think the shooter has to go with his own level of confidence in his ability to function in a crisis. Personally, I have never had a malfunction because I improperly seated a magazine and before I carry any pistol, I know the magazine has been firmly seated as well as the functional...

Water test: Two .45ACP JHPs evaluated

I agree, but your statement seems to be self contradiction since you preach the Schwartz modeling theory where he believes he can accurately predict how a bullet will behave in gelatin after shooting said bullet into water. Feel free to defer and as for "unsupported anonymous opinion" I'll...

    EAA Witness .40 cal

I had a ported model back in the late 90s. I don't remember having a malfunction of any kind. Accuracy was unimpressive so I sold it. This was probably about the 10th .40 S&W pistol I owned and I chalked the accuracy issues up to the cartridge itself and started depleting my inventory of .40 S&W...

Water test: Two .45ACP JHPs evaluated

But yet in the real world you could expect gelatin results to be the opposite with the slower load expanding less and penetrating deeper than the faster load expanding more and penetrating less. Schwartz believes he has an accurate model where you can shoot into water and formulate the expected...

    Malfunction Clearing

I believe training is the key with any system. For me, if I carried a SA/DA, I would train by immediately following a "Click" with a second pull DA, then tap/rack if no joy. There is one potential problem so far unmentioned. When executing an immediate tap/rack after a "Click" the "Bang" can...

    Horrible trigger M&P9

My shooting partner installed the Apex kit and it made a world of difference in his M&P 45c. ;)
