Just to clarify, the spring wire rests against the front of the bolt and is pinned under the flange of the bolt. It does not go around the body of the bolt.
I just sold a six week old Hornady L-N-L. I never could get it to work conistently. I lost track of how many small parts broke. Even though they were all replaced for free, it results in down time. I'm a mechanical engineer with 30 years of experience. I also enjoy woodworking for a hobby...
Brian Enos' Forum has a wealth of information on the topic. Here is a thread to get you started http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23041&hl=cross+eye+dominance.
If you want more, just do a search on "cross eye dominance."
I've shot both the Glock and XDs. For me the deciding factor was ergonomics. There is a major difference between grip angles and the XD suited me much better. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot a PX4 yet. I recommend you shoot all and pick the one you like best.
I can't see any significant advantage to the Commander including concealability. I have no problem concealing my 5" since the barrel extends from my waist band down the inside of my pants in an IWB holster.
The advantages to the full length model for me are a longer sight radius and better...
Pssst...You can't tell anyone but it is an NSA evesdropping device. And don't call me anymore becuase your line is bugged. :neener:
Seriously, esheato told you what it is and how it is used. SSAS told you what it causes. :D
All good advice here. My Production rig consists of:
1. XD-9 Service (In retrospect, I should have bought a Tactical but it is very accurate)
2. Five Springer mags for above
3. Bladetech DOH (I started with an Uncle Mikes but this makes it easier to access the pistol during the draw)...
I suggest the 4.25" Smith and Wesson 1911Sc. It has a Scandium frame (aluminum alloy) that cuts about 8-9 oz. of weight yet the recoil and muzzle flip are just very slightly greater than a steel framed 1911. The stainless steel slide means that you will not have to worry about corrosion from...
I tried to get some Meprolight sights for my Loaded Springer. Unfortunately, it has Novak cuts and Mepro doesn't make a model that fits them. I suspect the TRP has the same Novak cut so you may be out of luck.
I have an HKS that fits perfectly. I can't remember the model number, however, they are available from many vendors. It sure saves on cut thumbs. The top edges of my XD mags are sharp! :cuss:
When I bought my first pistol, I took an "advanced" CCW class about a month after I picked up the gun. This gave me a few weeks to get familiar with the pistol prior to taking the formal training. That seemed about right as it allowed me to get comfortable with my new weapon but not yet pick...
I love my Springer. However, I replaced the 2-piece FLGR that managed to unscrew itself no matter what I did with a STI 1-piece unit. Works great and problem solved!
