    new 380

After many years of sitting on the fence, my wife finally decided she wanted to CCW. She settled on a Glock 42. I don't much care for Glocks, but it's still a good choice.

    Walmart Perfecta ammo any good?

Pefecta ammo is manufactured by Fiocchi. It's a bargain for sure.

Ruger LCP .380 Pistols ON SALE

Trigger improvement should probably be their priority. The LCP I tried had the worst trigger I've ever felt on anything short of a weedeater.

    Picking a concealed carry pistol

If the OP is not an experienced handgun shooter, that's very bad advice.

    Picking a concealed carry pistol

All the above advice is good. I went through this (sort've anyway) a couple of weeks ago when my wife finally asked me to help her buy a gun for CCW. She's an experienced pistol shooter but has never been interested in CCW until now. One thing that might help with responses is to know your...

    AMT Back up

Have you tried Gunbroker.com? Used is all you're likely to find since that model hasn't been manufactured since sometime in the 1980s. I used to have one, but really didn't care for it much. And there are much better such pistols available today.

Ruger SR1911 vs Springfield Range Officer

I've been a bullseye shooter for 30 years. But I'm no longer a serious competitor and now do it just for the fun of it. I've been thinking of getting a RO for that. I think it would be a good starter gun for a beginning bullseye shooter, but probably would need some work before a Master class...

Are Polymer Pistols "Bulky" or "Ugly"?

I own but one polymer gun, a Kahr CM9. It isn't bulky at all. Smallest, lightest 9mm I've ever had.

When you retired, did your time spent with guns increase, or*?

I retired 7 years ago at age 60. As I got older, I found myself shooting less and less. I still reload, buy and sell guns, shoot the occasional bullseye match, and compete in my club's summer bullseye league, but don't hop in the RV and travel around the country to matches like I did 30 years...

Question about selling a handgun as a package deal

I've only done it once (not on THR but through a newspaper ad). It was the only gun of its caliber I owned. I threw in a holster and a partial box of ammo for free just to get rid of them. Sold the thing in less than 3 hours.

    eed a wider trigger for my S&W J-Frame 442

You might want to have that 442 looked at. I own one, and the trigger pull is nothing like what you describe.

    insurance?

I have no such insurance. In nearly 40 years of carrying, I've never once had to draw my weapon or even felt like I might need to. Nor has my home ever been broken into. Whatever that insurance costs, it's not worth it to me.

    New Taurus PT111 G2 Millenium

Hey, thanks for the offer. My grandson and his wife are stationed at Moody AFB, so I know what it trip it is from WV. Been looking for a cheap gun I could leave in the car, and maybe the G2 is it.

    New Taurus PT111 G2 Millenium

Thanks for the offer. I've been looking for a gun I can leave in the car so may take another look at the PT-111. Price is certainly right.

    New Taurus PT111 G2 Millenium

There's gotta be some quality difference in the newer model. When I bought my PT-111 in 1997 it was around $300. That'd be over $400 in today's money. Makes me wonder why the new model is so inexpensive.

    AMT Backup 45?

I bought a Backup in .22lr back in the 1980s. I lived in MD then (no CCW) so I bought it just to play with and because I liked the way it looked. All I ever shot out of it were CCI Stingers and it worked every time I pulled the trigger. It was fun to shoot, but I can only imagine what the...

    good, bad, ugly of Kentucky?

I forgot about Indiana; beautiful state. My wife and I have camped at the huge Crane naval facility. And my wife fell in love with Loogootie (sp?). If I were ever going to move again, I'd certainly consider Indiana.

    good, bad, ugly of Kentucky?

I live in West Virginia (Harpers Ferry), not Kentucky, but it's certainly a beautiful state. So are Pennsylvania, Virginia, North and South Carolina, and most every Eastern state south of Maryland. And they all have very liberal gun laws. I live within 30 minutes of five gun shops; a couple...

The oldest of my carry guns is only about 8 years old. A couple are less than a year old.
