    Ruger SR556VT Recall Notice

Mine didn't take two weeks, they returned it two business days after receiving it. They overnighted a shipping container the day after my phone call and I dropped the weapon off at the FedEx counter last Thursday. Received it back today (the following Wednesday). Good job Ruger.

Help with a Hornady L&L AP press/Brass feeder

Have you tried all the V-blocks that came with the feeder? It sounds like you need a longer one.

Filled a "hole" in my toy chest the other day-or a Ruger Bisely 45 lc finds a home

I really enjoy shooting mine. When it was new it had a disturbing bit of trigger creep that I thought was due to the transfer bar. After about 500 rounds, that has worked itself out so I don't really feel the need to spend for a trigger job.

    FNX-45 Tactical

I like mine. The elevated sights are co-witnessed with my Trijicon RMR so if the red dot dies you can still see/use the night sights through the optic. Mine feeds jacketed round nose and jacketed hollow points just fine. With the red dot, shooting center of mass on a silhouette target feels...

    Recommendation for CCW/Jogging

A little OT, but does anyone know if the bouncing during running will eventually breakdown the gunpowder in the cartridge?

Other uses for brass? Arts and crafts?

I used a 7/16" dowel with 45 Colt brass as end caps to make a clock pendulum.

    Video Powder Check...No Adjustment Necessary

Very cool. I think the hopper on my case feeder could use a camera too. I don't want to mount a mirror on my ceiling!

    Stopping the LnL Case Feeder

Use a dowel to prevent casings from feeding out of the drop tube. This is handy when you've finished with your last primer stack or are setting up the dies.

I've not had that problem after many, many orders, but they will solve it. Just call them.

Troubleshooting 45ACP SWC - Fun Hobby

One thing I found helpful in finding an OAL for my SWC was to build half a dozen dummies and load them into a magazine. Then you can test feeding by racking the slide when the magazine spring is compressed. Start with a longer OAL and you can just keep shortening the dummies until they feed...

Question about zeroes and shooting height difference

Gravity will cause you to shoot high in this case. The NSSF has a nice video that describes how to compute the angle range. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTSBcNgGMNo

Went outside my comfort zone... Bought a polymer pistol

My Glock rattles when the trigger is "to the rear" (i.e. after pulling the trigger on an empty chamber). It's a good check that the striker channel is clean. When the trigger is forward, the striker is half cocked and should not rattle. I like either to cut my own skate board deck tape or...

    XS Big Dot for SP101

I don't have a Big Dot, but if you raise the height of the front sight it will lower your POI for the same cartridge. If it's only to be used a self defense weapon the difference at a SD range will probably not matter much.

1890's Remington hammer 12 ga. shotgun

Model 1889 I think. The following link states that around 1900, the serial numbers changed over to the 200,000 block. I can't help with your other questions. Rich http://www.remington.com/en/product-families/firearms-history/shotgun/side-by-side-shotguns.aspx

    Revolver Cyliner not perfectly "balanced"?

Shouldn't you be checking the cylinder-bore alignment with the trigger held to the rear?

Thinking of trading G26 for XDs

Check out Talon grips for the G26. I have small hands and shoot with the standard mags and don't miss the pinky finger at all. I have the granulate (skateboard deck tape) version and have well over 3,000 rounds on my Gen 3 since putting the grip on.

    What brush cleaner: barrel break-in?

If I suspected that a dirty brush was making the patches dirty I'd first try a brand new brush and see it that made a difference before trying ways to clean a used brush. Brushes are cheap compared to barrels.

    Wheel gun for target shooting?

I really like my 7.5 inch Bisley Blackhawk in 45 Colt and shoot 200 grain LSWC target loads at 25 yards just fine. The single action is not really a pain because with the Ruger you don't need to manipulate the hammer to rotate the cylinder like the older single actions. All you need to do is...

Winchester white and red box 9mm ammo problems....

I had problems with some 9mm WWB a couple of years ago. I don't know the lot number but I had about 2 per 1000 defects. The case mouth was damaged (a small tear that folded under the bullet) so that when the slide tried to feed a round it would wedge in the chamber and not go fully into...
