Have you tried all the V-blocks that came with the feeder? It sounds like you need a longer one.

I really enjoy shooting mine. When it was new it had a disturbing bit of trigger creep that I thought was due to the transfer bar. After about 500 rounds, that has worked itself out so I don't really feel the need to spend for a trigger job.

Use a dowel to prevent casings from feeding out of the drop tube. This is handy when you've finished with your last primer stack or are setting up the dies.

One thing I found helpful in finding an OAL for my SWC was to build half a dozen dummies and load them into a magazine. Then you can test feeding by racking the slide when the magazine spring is compressed. Start with a longer OAL and you can just keep shortening the dummies until they feed...

I don't have a Big Dot, but if you raise the height of the front sight it will lower your POI for the same cartridge. If it's only to be used a self defense weapon the difference at a SD range will probably not matter much.

Shouldn't you be checking the cylinder-bore alignment with the trigger held to the rear?

Check out Talon grips for the G26. I have small hands and shoot with the standard mags and don't miss the pinky finger at all. I have the granulate (skateboard deck tape) version and have well over 3,000 rounds on my Gen 3 since putting the grip on.

If I suspected that a dirty brush was making the patches dirty I'd first try a brand new brush and see it that made a difference before trying ways to clean a used brush. Brushes are cheap compared to barrels.
