I don't have expierence with all your list of prospects but I can contribute a little. As to the weight issue just go with the weight you desire. Recoil is nonexistent in comparison to a powder burner. I personally feel that a little weight helps me settle in when standing or in non supported...
A Charter Arms "Undercover".38spl. I bought this one about 25 years ago at a pawn shop in Georgia (forgot what little I paid for it). I put about a hundred rounds through it a year and still going strong. Put a set of cushy Pachmyars on it and has been at my wifes side of the bed for ten years now.
The XS rail option is a great way to go. I placed one on my marlin lever gun and have used it in both the standard and scout mode. It is overkill for me though. I'm a scout convert. Once I tried it I haven't looked back.
Now back to the question. I agree with the above that you can't go wrong...
I got my first Savage in 1990, a 110-FP in .308. I've been training and shooting with LE snipers since then and it has never let me down.
The one criticism I had was how the barrel held on to copper fouling. The Remys cleaned a lot quicker.
