Upon further inspection at home, it appears that the entire front sight assembly is slightly rotated to the left (counterclockwise) from the shooter's perspective. If vertical is 12 o'clock, it's sitting at about 11:45.
Due to so much of the front sight being obscured by the top hand guard, I...
It's the 100 to 300 yard adjustable.
Awesome. Thank you! I think this is some of the OCD of being used to modern, CNC produced firearms in which generally everything just...lines up.
Again, thank you. Looks like everything is right in line with what I'm experiencing.
Sorry, a typo on my...
Hello, friends.
I've inherited a 1942 Inland M1 Carbine and decent amount of original ammunition.
When zeroing it this last weekend, I was quite surprised to find how far the rear sight had to be drifted to attain a POA/POI windage zero. I was also surprised at how much of the front sight I...
I'm wondering how intense of a gunsmithing job it is to remove/relocate the front sight on a CZ550 and thread the barrel. I'd like to mount a suppressor.
The CZ rep I contacted didn't seem to know if the front sight was screwed + epoxied, screwed + soldered, or just plain screwed on.
I carry my Glock 19 in a G-Code Incog every day to class, just about at the 4:30 position.
It's comfortable and built very well. If I couldn't sit through a two hour Calculus lecture in a 30+ year old wooden seats with it strapped on, I wouldn't be using it.
Also, G-Code hooked me up with a...
I found that any RWS pellet I shot though any of my airguns to be supremely accurate over Crossman brand pellets.
You'll find more than a few Crossman pellets in a tin that have seam lines, deformed/malformed skirts, inconsistent weights, etc.
RWS pellets are far and away higher quality...
I love my 30-06. Shot an elk with it this last Christmas day. What a present.
My dad has been shooting elk for thirty years with a Remington 700 in 30-06. I couldn't think of a better all-around cartridge for the North American continent.
I owned a 10/22 and a MP15-22 and was highly displeased with both of them. They never had quite the accuracy I was looking for, and I found that neither of them were particularly well suited for hunting ground squirrels at any distance past 25 yards.
I sold both of them an picked up a...
CZ makes some fine, fine guns with open sights that will give most any other guns in their price range a hefty run for their money.
Here's my CZ-550 FS in 30-06. I, too, necessitate that my rifles have open sights. Click for a bigger picture.

After seeing that thread go a long while with people rattling off just about every firearm manufacturer in existence, I'd like to see what people want to buy (for what few of them exist,)...
My family usually hunts elk in the mountains of Wyoming, but the first time my father ever took me elk hunting was when I was around 14 years old in Idaho.
About forty minutes outside of Idaho Falls there exists an elk feedground situated deep in the foothills to the west of the city. We had...
At the risk of letting this thread diverge even more, a .223 will kill humanely just fine. It drops Yotes like rocks. It's a great little round.
On the other hand, a 22 LR in the right spot will do job. It's all about shot placement.
Elk.
I love the terrain they (usually) call home, how ridiculously smart they are, how good they taste, and how fun each elk hunt ends up being.
I've never hunted them for anything other than meat. No bulls for me.
It's a leather 1907 sling. It's actually a little too short for the rifle. For me to use the sling as intended (half turn, looped over bicep, etc.) the forward most claw on the sling has to be in the last set of punches. It's still a bit too tight even then.
Edit: I had really poor lighting in...
Open sights all the way! CZ's are shootin' guns. I shot a 237 at my first Appleseed with this thing. It's taken more ground squirrels than I can count.
It's a 30-06.
2012 as far as I'm aware. It has "12" stamped on the receiver and barrel next to a stamp of what looks like a little lion (or something) standing up.
