Use Speer Gold Dot or Hornady Critical Defence in the LCP, both have been shown to work well in tests, and they work a whole lot better than FMJ. I would always take a reliably expanding JHP over FMJ in 380. We are afforded the luxury of using bullets that expand and cause excessive bleeding...

I've owned or shot all of them, including 2 P-3ATs that were both complete junk, and nothing comes close to the Ruger LCP.

I've seen just about every scientific and non-scientific 380 test out there, and the ONLY consistent performer across all of them was the 90gr Gold Dot. That's the round I use.

My HK P30 in .40S&W is the finest combat pistol I have ever fired. The trigger even on the DA/SA is superb, the ergonomics are incredible, and recoil is lower than my 9mms. It is in short one superb piece of engineering.

FMJ or JHP is the perennial 380 question, but I think that with the arrival of Gold Dots it has been settled. Make no mistake, this little pocket pistol is quite deadly, it is no toy and quite capable of putting an attacker in the dirt. Gold Dots show both good penetration and expansion...
