Has Remington Returned Your R-51 OR a New One?

None for sale on Gunbroker right now so I'd say they have been pulled from the market. Of course the irony is that even junk will have value if there are only a few of them, imagine what a Chauchat would be worth today.

LCP: FMJ or HP for Carry?

Use Speer Gold Dot or Hornady Critical Defence in the LCP, both have been shown to work well in tests, and they work a whole lot better than FMJ. I would always take a reliably expanding JHP over FMJ in 380. We are afforded the luxury of using bullets that expand and cause excessive bleeding...

SIG sp2022 or SP101 3" in my bug out bag

The SiG offers 16 rounds and is reasonably compact. The choice is obvious.

    Public restroom oops

Looks like an SP2340. Just another crazy old retiree leaving guns all over the place. There's a time when grandpa needs to switch to pepper spray. Just saying.

    First Gun Purchase Advice

Of those choices go with the SigPro. But the Glock 19 is arguably the best, first gun - and no, I'm not a Glockaholic myself.

    hk10

No 10mm gun will sell like hot cakes, none ever has. Too much recoil, too much cost for ammunition. The 10mm will always be a niche round.

    380 ammo ?

This is a purely personal opinion and not supported by any verifiable testing, but.... From those shootings I have studied that involved a .380ACP, the ones using an FMJ rarely caused much inconvenience to the target, but those with JHPs usually ended in the morgue. One was a through and...

    The 380s

I've owned or shot all of them, including 2 P-3ATs that were both complete junk, and nothing comes close to the Ruger LCP.

    .380 carry rounds

I've seen just about every scientific and non-scientific 380 test out there, and the ONLY consistent performer across all of them was the 90gr Gold Dot. That's the round I use.

Thanks guys - it shoots amazingly well too. Looks like she beat me again, darn it ;)

    HK P30 or Sig 229

My HK P30 in .40S&W is the finest combat pistol I have ever fired. The trigger even on the DA/SA is superb, the ergonomics are incredible, and recoil is lower than my 9mms. It is in short one superb piece of engineering.

What S&W did my wife buy?

My wife jumped in at the deep end and picked up this used S&W based on feel and a good trigger. According to the crane it's a Model 67-3, serial is CCF4XXX, the pin is affixed to the hammer and not the frame. Barrel is stamped .38 S&W Special. Can anyone tell me if this is a "recognized"...

Ruger LCP .380 ammo for SD

FMJ or JHP is the perennial 380 question, but I think that with the arrival of Gold Dots it has been settled. Make no mistake, this little pocket pistol is quite deadly, it is no toy and quite capable of putting an attacker in the dirt. Gold Dots show both good penetration and expansion...

    Beretta U22 Neos RECALL.

I wonder how long it will take for some enterprising individual to "accidentally" shoot themselves with a Neos and get a nice big fat check from Beretta for their pains. Sound crazy? Remember the lady who shot herself in the shoulder with a .22 to get free health care on her injured...

P228 trigger - what to do?

I have a NIB P228, one of the last factory versions with the P229 rail frame. My gun came nicely equipped from SiG with factory night sights and the short trigger, but here's the problem. That short trigger is very thin across the face, and the DA trigger pull on this gun, while being smooth...
