    Minwax and red food coloring

Cool Vepr zoom6zoom... I don't pretend to be an expert in woodworking. I would never test my "recipe" on one of my Russian rifles. With my PAP...I figured if I screwed it up, I'll just order a rail ;) I'm pretty happy with the results though. I believe I'll wait on that quad rail.

    Minwax and red food coloring

Here is the finished product curing on the back porch...I think they came out pretty good (it is an AK though so you wouldn't want it "perfect")! I will add some more pics of this one as well as another where I have used this method in the coming days. As mentioned, it's not for...

I finally got my Inox Beretta!

I too have been bitten by the Beretta bug (again). I just picked up the 92 compact in inox with rail. I am chomping at the bit to shoot it for the first time (maybe this weekend). Nice gun and good luck with it!!!!

    Minwax and red food coloring

Barnbwt, I have done this many times and haven't had a problem with fading. It's not for everybody though...but for me it works. Here is the finished product. I will probably let them dry for 48-72 hours so take a look over the weekend for the finished grips installed on my PAP pistol...

    Minwax and red food coloring

That's funny DeanDallas... I don't sell anything (just ask my wife!) This is just a fun project that I have done a few times and thought I would share with THR this time in case anyone wanted "Russian" red grips for a fraction of the cost.

    Minwax and red food coloring

I've done this before, but thought I would share my Serbian PAP pistol overhaul with you all. I missed the before pics but the furniture was just your standard cheap Serbian PAP pistol wood (google it if you are unfamiliar). I should also note that I threw on the Krinkov muzzle this morning...

What rifle would work for my needs?

You can't go wrong with this: http://www.classicfirearms.com/vz2008czechriflesemiautowmagsetc Great, ultra reliable rifles; NOT an AK (or an AR)....And lighter than an AK. You can even get a rail for them...I have 1 and my pops has 2! Love 'em almost as much as my AKs ;)

Well, it finally happened (Saiga import ban)

Armoredman, this may raise a few hairs on the back of your neck (in addition to the energy they are supplying). www.forbes.com/sites/kitconews/2014/07/18/worlds-largest-silver-producing-countries-russia/ No telling how much gold they are mining and selling on the market. I'm sure they...

Well, it finally happened (Saiga import ban)

Russia doesn't need us, and they know it. They supply enough energy to the Europeans to where they don't need loans (from us or any other country) and will finance countries whom they back. Putin has Europe feeding off of the Russian energy umbilical cord and they can turn the valve off any...

Well, it finally happened (Saiga import ban)

Sam, how much of that figure is actually affected by the sanctions? Your tables don't really clarify, they just show figures. I have seen the sanction list and most of the stock names listed don't contain names of companies found at your local "box store". The sanctions are a joke, and only...

Well, it finally happened (Saiga import ban)

We aren't really causing much negative economic impact by banning the importation of Nagants/Saigas/etc. They would be hurting if said vodka/Popav/etc. was even restricted (probably their number 1 export to the USA). Go to your local box store and look for "Made in Russia" tags outside of the...

Well, it finally happened (Saiga import ban)

Funny how Saigas are singled out but the vodka still flows. I guarantee sanctioning their alcohol would provide much more financial damage to them than banning a few million dollars worth of rifles...
