Gunsmith action jobs on lever action rifles

I have a Rossi 92 that is next to impossible to load through the loading gate. I'm able to get a few rounds into the mag tube by pushing a round with another round until I get the first round in. But, the only way I can get it fully loaded is to use a dowel or some such tool, and then only with...

    Colt 1911 Government 45

Some people don't like the firing pin safety, In a 1911 I don't either.

    Favorite .357 magnum long gun?

I have a Rossi 92 that I bought a long time ago, before they put that (in my opinion) stupid safety on them. In the time I've had it, I haven't shot it much, maybe 100 rounds or so, but so far I like it. I plan to shoot it more, soon. I'm wondering, though, if any of you have shot yours enough...

Wow, an M1 Carbine finally followed me home ..

If I were in the market for a carbine I wouldn't buy anything but a US Military GI carbine. But you can expect to spend a $1000 or more for one in good condition. Some of the commercial versions are crap, or so I've been told. Yours may or may not be a good one.

    M1 Carbine rising

There are a lot of people who like carbines, but don't realize that there is the commercial Inland Carbine, and then there is the USGI Inland, as well. The USGI Inlands shoot and are just as reliable as any other USGI Carbine, but I"ve heard the commercial versions have had issues. A good friend...

    Let's Talk .380

My favorite .380 is the Sig P230. It's too big for the pocket, but it easily conceals on the belt, or inside the pants, under a baggy shirt. I'm 6 feet and only 160 pounds.

    CMP 1911's another snag ...

To me personally, an arsenal rebuild is correct if the parts are all US military.

An elegant weapon for a more civilized age...

The Model 1934 Beretta is a classic. They were built like a tank and were extremely reliable. I carried mine for many years.

    Battle of The Carbines : M-1 or High-Point ?

I am a huge M1 carbine fan. I was seven years old the first time I handled an M1A1.That was in 1950. My dad, a warrant officer in the 2nd Infantry Division, was shipping out to Korea to fight the commies. He brought all his gear, including his carbine, home the night before he left. I gave that...

    Dropping handgun poll

I've never dropped one, but Once, while playing pool with a friend, he bent over a little too far to take a shot when his .45 Gov. Model fell out of his shoulder holster and landed on the table top. I don't know if anybody saw that, since we didn't stay long enough to find out.

    Lightweight Commander feed bobble

I have a Combat Commander and a bunch of Colt and Chip McCormick shooting Star mags. Every so often I'll get a failure to feed with one of them, usually a nose dive into the mag well. On the advice of a friend I bought a couple Wilson Combat mags. Presto! Over 500 rounds so far with no feed...
