Jareds jewelers in Hurst, TX now posted 30.06

IJ-70, I don't live in Texas, but I go there occasionally and I know it's a great state. All shall-issue or may-issue states allow private property owners to post their stores.

    CSI: Miami Gun errors

CSI finale I could only shake my head and sputter when the guy on the garage roof hits the crime tech and the corpse with full-auto fire from a pistol from many meters away. He would be lucky to have the bullets land in the same county as the targets. And the bullet fired from the floor...

"Hand over the money or I will kill you!"

I would ignore whatever he said. I don't value a car or the contents of my wallet or home above human life, but property is not the key issue here. If he is pointing a weapon at me, I will assume he is going to use it and I will move and respond with potentially lethal force to a physical...

How I Carry Concealed LEGALLY at Age 20 in a 21+ State

Good work WhitePony. Since you have satisfied the legal requirements, I vote that you exercise your privilege. Don't do anything in traffic to get yourself stopped, and make sure your concealment techniques are adequate.

    Apathy and No Guns Signs

There are very few no-gun signs here in CO, and none on businesses I frequent. If I encounter such a sign, I take my business elsewhere. My opinion is that the source of the no-gun sign has his mind made up and doesn't care what I think, so I don't waste my time attempting to educate...

UK Ministers 'covered up' gun crime

From the story in the first post: "The Home Office figures - which exclude crimes involving air weapons" As in Luftwaffe?

The most creative anti to date...

The neighbor said, "At least with a knife, you're killing who you want to kill and you're not accidentally taking out innocent bystanders with your knife thrusts." I guess you didn't get around to mentioning to her that the UK bans knives too.

    Glock slide slam

It always happens with my 2 G21s, rarely with a G27. I think it could occur on any pistol with the grip-slide angle not 90 degrees, and more likely to occur with the angle farther from 90 degrees. When you slap the mag into the well, and the angle is not 90 degrees, part of the force is...

    DC Fires Heller case lawyer

And I wonder what happens if they get to SCOTUS without a lawyer? In the Miller decision, I have read, Miller couldn't afford to hire a lawyer, so his side didn't show up at all. That didn't stop the Supremes from issuing a decision.

    MOA?

Minute of angle. Actually it's an arc-minute (1/60th of a degree).

    Glock-one in chamber or not?

Fact: Light single-action trigger pull or heavy revolver trigger pull, a gun fires when the trigger is pulled. Opinion: I think my Glocks, contained in a quality holster that covers the trigger guard, are completely prevented from firing the chambered cartridge.

    Glock 26 vs. Glock 27

I first had a .45 G21, then got a G27 .40. The 27 "feels" like it has more recoil than the 21, yes. But it's not going to break your wrist; I am sure anyone that shoots your 1911 can handle the 27. Plus, I shoot equally well with the 21 or 27. Regarding the 26, I have no experience. If...

If you could (and would) open carry, would you...

Good point, NovaDAK. I agree and admit I am failing to advance the OC cause. It is legal to carry openly in my state (outside Denver). Virtually no one does so, including me. But if, say, 25% or more of the populace carried openly where I lived, then I would definitely join in. I won't do...

    Intentionally Revealing your CC?

In Colorado, revealing "by word or action" that one is armed is felony menacing. That's probaby why Colorado does not have a statutory requirement to inform a contacting LEO that you are armed. Otherwise, you would simultaneously comply with one law and violate another.

    Colorado Church Shootings--Legal Question

I viewed a press conference online wherein the church pastor stated she was a member of the church volunteering for security service at a service after attending a previous service. http://www.9news.com/video/player.aspx?aid=45268&bw He also said they didn't hire "mercenaries". So she was...

Pretty sure I got a frivolous ticket because I was carrying...

In the quoted 42.01 is the phrase "offensive gesture". I wonder if that has a legal definition elsewhere in the statutes. A frown, sneer, or derisive laugh could be considered offensive.
