    No Alaska Oil

I would be willing to bet that most that are against the development of oil wells in Alaska use petroleum products on a daily basis. Could this be considered hypocrisy? Fact is I like oil and electricity. Seems everbody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.........Chainsaw

    Problems with RCBS scale?

boogalou, Your scale is probably ok. Do you have a ceiling fan in the area or a draft? This affects my scale and I would make sure to check for that problem, I for the most part do not trust my scale to read 100% correctly. I have a 5-0-2 also and just use it as a reference point for checking...

Kerry credited with 20 kills in Vietnam

4wrma, John Kerry served his country and for that my hat is off to him. However, since that time, his actions and voting record have gone against the constitution that he swore an oath to uphold. (like many others have also done) In good conscience I should not vote for either candidate...

Barnes "X" 120gr: What can it take?

We have used the Barnes XBT bullet in 130 grain out of a single shot 30-30 rifle and have shot thru every whitetail we tried it on. The result is a dead animal. The Barnes X is truly remarkable, and like labgrade, we haven't recovered one yet.........Chainsaw

    PR powders from Pat Mcdonald

John wrote; Any info would be appreciated, I have used powders, brass and bullets from this company and all were satisfactory, and Pat can tell you how to use them. I have used AA#2 with great success in 9mm with 115FMJ bullets from Hornady. If you have already done business with Pat, you...

    problems with my NEF

Some of the rimless cartridge versions of the NEF rifles indeed have problems with ejection of spent cases. Some can be fixed with a stiffer spring on the extractor per se. Others have been fixed by polishing the chamber, others have been fixed by sending them back to factory for headspace work...

There was a thread here where the prices were from $399 and up. Do a search and see if you can come up with the thread. I paid $480 for mine in Cheeseville. It was the first one I saw anywhere. I have not been able to shoot it much as of yet...............

    Forget CCW. Try yoga.

Greg wrote in his email reply, <But if you still live in a neighborhood that is so dangerous that you really think you need to carry a gun around with you all of the time, then I think you should consider relocating again.> End of quoted text. Dick, Greg also indicated possibly relocating to...

    RCBS Trim Mate

Tree Rat, I think that you like will a Trim Mate for all that it can do for you and it makes all aspects of case prep go faster. To chamfer cases both inside and out it works like a breeze. To clean primer pockets in one-two seconds also. Then for decrimping military cases it works fairly fast...

WC872 load data for 7mm Rem Mag?

I used the load data out of Hodgdon's number 26 manual and it showed just the one load of 79 grains@ 3153 fps and a pressure of 46,800 CUP well below the SAMMI spec, for bullets of 139-140 grains. I then started lower and with a micrometer kept measuring web expansion rings compared to the...

WC872 load data for 7mm Rem Mag?

Poodleshooter, I load a 140 Barnes X with WC 872 in a 7mm Remington Magnum A-Bolt rifle. I doubt that you can overload this case with a 140 grain bullet and this powder, as I got to 78 grains and quit there. I would have to use a drop tube to get more in the case. Pressure signs are...

    RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure Issue

Jaywalker, I am told the relatively inexpensive Lee powder measure that sells for around 20 dollars works fairly well with extruded powder. I have the RCBS Uni-flow and use strictly ball type powder for all my loading. I was reminded this past week of how much I dislike extruded powder when...

9mm accuracy and power from a 16in barrel?

    I chronographed some S&B 115 grain FMJ in 3 different 9mm s/a firearms and the results were, 3 inch barrel ------ 1068 fps (Kel-Tec) 4 inch barrel------1175fps (S&W 5904) 16 1/2 inch barrel--1283 fps (Camp Carbine) I worked up a handload with the S&B brass with AA#2 Imp powder with...

    RCBS Powder measure dangerous

My Uni-flow works well with ball type powder, with extruded powder it is another matter. Bridging seems to occur regularly. I have for the most part used nothing but ball powder and it makes reloading a joy. with all the ball powders out there I have been able to find one for each of my...

9mm ballistics out of a carbine?

I have chronographed 9mm loads with 3 and 4" pistols as well as the 16" Marlin Camp Carbine, and I was not pleased with the results. The S&B 115 grain FMJ load was in FPS; 3"--1068 4"--1175 16"-1283 I attained the same results for the most part with my reloads that I worked up with AA#2...
