When I shake my 686 it makes a rattling noise. I am holding the thumb piece and cylinder tight with the gun unloaded. Is this ok? I thought only guns with transfer bars like Rugers made noise. It does it with the hammer down and cocked SA.

I do not have this problem. I am transitioning from moon clips to speed loaders. I know speed loaders prevent this failure. Without the moon clips, how do I avoid this problem?

If I go with the speed loader, how much of a concern is the failure where the ejector star ends up with a round under it? I think moons prevent this.

The side of my 686 hammer has a mark on it from rubbing on the frame near the top of the side plate. Function is 100%. No light primer strikes in 100 rounds. Should I worry about this? Should I send it back to Smith?
