New NRA Museum in Bass Pro Shop -Springfield, MO

I am still drooling. Went to Bass Pro Shop today in Springfield, MO not knowing this new museum was opened (free admission). Since my granddaughter and wife were with me I didn't have enough time to see it all, but it was impressive. I plan to go back when I have an hour or two to take it all...

Huge news in IL (CCW, removal of Chicago AWB)

I think jumping through hoops and the relatively high fees to get a permit will discourage some people, particularly poor people. And it is poor people living in areas where poverty is concentrated who face the worst problem with crime. While the intent of the law is not racial bias, the...

Any reason not to move to Missouri?

In one study at George Mason University, Missouri is ranked as the 7th most free state in the union. But like all states, where there is population concentrated in big cities, there is an element that believes in government control instead of freedom. My son-in-law who lives rural describes...

Anti universal background check Oklahoma Senator sounding stupid

What other right can be infringed by us being required to get government approval before we can exercise that right? If exercise of a God given, and Constitutionally guaranteed right requires prior government approval, hasn't that right been destroyed and turned into a government granted...

    Guess I'm Done With Budwiser......

Isn't alcohol the cause of considerable deaths each year from drunk driving, and health problems caused by excessive consumption. There are probably even a few firearm deaths from people drinking and messing with guns. I think the danger of death and injury from alcohol far exceeds any...

How the other side thinks - Incredible

Look at the bright side. Someone who refuses to defend himself is in danger of being sent to the scrap heap of history. Maybe Darwin has it right. Carrying is like having insurance on your home, car, health or life. You don't expect to use it, but should you need it but not have it, your...

    Bloomberg crowd attacking Wyoming

Really. So if someone has mental problems, he or she doesn't have rights? You assume that because some of the 11,000 homicide deaths each year are caused by people with mental illness, all mentally ill people are dangerous. But is that true? The same could be said for people who drink...

    Gun of choice, bovine slaughter?

You don't want to kill it with the bullet; you just want to knock it out so you can immediately slit its throat and have its heart pump out as much blood as possible before it stops. I had a neighbor who did "on the farm butchering" as a sideline and he used a 22lr or 22 mag from about 10 to...

Mandatory Firearms Possession, Got to love Maine!!

Didn't the early Militia laws require all able bodied men from 16 to 60 be well armed and regulated (trained) for the common defense of the States? And I think they provided for arming those who could not afford to arm themselves. The 2nd amendment addresses two group. One being "the...

This Is Foolishness Is All Too Common

Looks to me like just more of the conditioning process used by collectivists schools to make kids feel guns are bad and feel guilty if they like them. Government and frightened people prefer passive people who won't defend themselves, and decades of deliberate conditioning seems to have...

    Missouri gun ban introduced

Received this email today from my Missouri State Representative, Robert Ross: It looks to me like this outlandish bill was dead on arrival and was just a stunt by Democrats to give the impression to their gullible supporters that they are doing something.

Say good by To The Nasty Black Rifles and hi-mags

Unfortunately there are many people in the US, citizens and politicians alike, who believe that if the majority vote for something it is OK and that the Constitution doesn't mean anything. Their view is that you only have the rights that the majority are willing to let you have, and that we...

    Wal-Mart adopts new ammo policy

If the demand exceeds the supply, there are two ways for a seller to deal with it. One is raising the price until it cuts off some of the demand. The other is not raising the price but rationing either by limits or a back order system. I commend Walmart for choosing to ration instead of...

    AWB unintended consequences?

The greatest danger is open revolt. When people feel oppressed by their government some of them begin to hate it; at a minimum, the government loses some respect and support. If you add in increasingly bad economic conditions, an increasing number of people have little to lose by rebelling...

Stores limiting Ammo Sales- Agree or Disagree?

I really don't care one way or another as long as the store is making the choice and not the government. I will say that if they need to ration by limiting how many boxes you can buy, they probably have set the price too low to let the market place do the rationing.

How can they charge this man - MN has the Castle Doctrine?

Sounds like negligence to not try to identify who it was since the child was still outside the house and no immediate threat to him. This guy must walk around with his gun to be able to respond that quickly.

How to respond to your doctor if s/he asks you about gun ownersip?

Given the danger that he might put me in a data base, when he asked me if I had guns in my home, I would simply tell him that I might have some Dentine or Wrigley's Juicy Fruit, but I may have already used it up. An alternative answer might be, "I hope the next question your going to ask me...

I am going to say it - I like the idea of universal NICS checks

Saw a MSM segment talking about where criminals get their guns. They reported a survey of people in jail for crimes involving guns that asked how they acquired the gun they used in their crimes (can't remember the state). 40% got their guns on the street, 40% from friends and families, 4% in...

Has the uproar from pro-gun citizens already thwarted Obama? This guy says so.

I don't know who this guy, The Ulsterman Report, is or how credible his report. He says the uproar from the public was effective in stopping Obama plan: http://theulstermanreport.com/2013/01/16/republican-insider-obama-livid-over-gun-rights-backlash/ Certainly it is not time to pat...

    Reply from my Senator

Ditto; I got the same response from Blunt. I even emailed Claire McCaskill my thoughts as politely as I could. I noticed Blunt and my Representative both had a topic for 2nd amendment, but McCaskill did not. Tells you what she thinks about our rights. Have not heard back from her.
