    Pictures of YOUR custom mauser

Gunner, Stan, Thanks. I am getting some really good guidance and I have high hopes for it. The barrel was made and installed on the action by Sukalle in Phoenix in 1946. I found it in broken stock and in need of some TLC. I grew up very near the Sukalle shop (but long after he was...

Still in progress. Well seasoned Bishop blank. Bottom Metal Barrel fit. Top Metal Filed rear bridge and tang. Buttplate Filing point. Remington rear sight. Something better in the future. Or refile the shape of this one. Lots more to do...

    LC Smith firing pins

I use the SP-10 wad for my smokeless loads. I use card and fiber wads for the occasional blackpowder day.

    Lyman/Siebert 36x

I have a Lyman 25x LWBR that was boosted to 36x by Wally Siebert. In the original box is the correspondence between Wally and Mike Shepherd who was apparently either gunsmith for the US Army or as a sideline while in the Army. It was shipped to an APO in April of 1979. Taylor Barracks, APO...

    .308 suppressor on .223

My YHM 7.62 Phantom on my SBR. This is the Class III FFL shooting it, before I could own it, as my stamp hadn't arrived. Click on the picture for video. (IF it works in this forum.) Still picture. I had my Weaver 3-9x on it at the time to check load accuracy. EDIT: That picture is so...

O/U single trigger, both barrels - an MG?

So a modified trigger, not stock Mini-14 as delivered from Ruger.

My 870 Tactical shoots slugs WAY too high. What's up with that???

How fast are the loads you are shooting? Faster will hit lower.

O/U single trigger, both barrels - an MG?

Are you referring to a standard Mini 14 trigger? I have owned a couple of them over the years and have never had one that fired a shot in any other way than having to PULL the trigger for EACH shot.

    LC Smith firing pins

bgc, I have some brass shells that I had made by Ballard Rifle when I purchased my first 10ga. I believe they are now out of business. For all of my smokeless loads I use cut down Federal plastic hulls and the SP10 wad. I do not believe I have ever used any paper hulls. I am not sure...

    LC Smith firing pins

After finding a competent 'smith who knows doubles, not your local scope mounter and barrel crowning guy, and given a the go ahead, enjoy that old Elsie. You can buy 10ga ammo (expensive) of the correct pressures to shoot in that gun or (better IMO) load your own. I have been shooting...

    ATF SBR engraving clarification

jmorris, I thought that there was a depth that each letter must be? Does the laser meet that requirement? My SBR has a lasered logo on the magwell and my name engraved. The engraving is MUCH deeper.

O/U single trigger, both barrels - an MG?

Actually it is not "per trigger pull" it's "per trigger action" A fire on pull and fire on release is legal, since it is 2 actions of the trigger (there is an ATF ruling on this). Perhaps the O/U falls under this category. I wonder if this ruling was to cover "Release Triggers"? Many trap and...

Is suppressing a .45 ACP pistol worth it?

Post #1. I shoot my suppressed AR at 3-Gun matches quite regularly.
