Loading over SAAMI max COAL for 9mm

To me loading handgun ammo its plain simple, i just load to factory specs and shoot a variety of pistols. In my experience the most accuracy and clean burn is at max of the loading chart, if I want a light factor load I use fast burning powders at max if I want hard hitting ammo just use slow...

    Heavy 9mm with W231?

I load the 150gr Lyman cast bullet (#356637) with 3.7gr of W231 at a OAL of 1,13", mixed headstamp and Wolf primers. No signs of pressure and really accurate, gives me 915 FPS from a CZ shadow and 890 FPS from a Tanfoglio Stock II so you get a Power Factor of 136 ;) Hope this helps

Starline 45ACP+P brass scratching Dillon 650 powder funnel

Tumble your cases with walnut and Nu finish, the wax film prevents this issue. I have to tumble all of my STM cleaned brass because of this, plus its retard oxidation and aid in easier extration

    Bullet coating

I also searched a lot about copper plating lead, you need to clean you bullets REALLY well to get the copper with enough adhesion to stay hold after firing(to make this easier just simply cast them an plate them at that moment), you need to wash them in fluoboric acid and the copper plate them...

Bulging Brass Loading 45 ACP Lead

What brass you were using? Some cases bulge more than others due case wall thickness, I like to use thin wall cases for oversized lead bullets like R-P and Speer. If I reload with jacketed bullets I prefer Win or Magtech (CBC) those have quite thick walls and ensure proper neck tension If they...

Height of Hills in a Rifled barrel

Hi ! I would like to know how tall are the hills of a pistol and a rifle barrel since I have searched every place in the internet and nothing. FMJ vs Plated?

I cant find a reason why plated bullets should be less accurate than Jacketed ammo... After some really extensive load development I found that Plated are at least as accurate as Jacketed If The copper plating its decent (I think that 0.005" and above should be good) one of the most accurate...

    FMJ Bullets vs. Jacketed

First...by copper coated you mean copper plated right ? FMJ stands as Full metal Jacket, CMJ as Complete metal jacket and TMJ (total metal "jacket") the last one is name that Speer decided to give to there plated bullets which have a thick copper plate around 0.01" of thickness so they work with...

    Gunpowder into a Paste

I know that I'm facing a huge risk trying this that's why I'm going to limit my components to the very less minimum possible, Ill start with just enough to fill 10 or so primer to be in a safer manner Do you really think that making the priming mix using mercury fulminate its safer than...

    Gunpowder into a Paste

Doug you seems to have some knowledge about priming mixtures ... where did you work? Can you explain something more detailed about making priming mixture ? like where did you get the components? Gunpowder into a Paste

I´ll give a try to paint thinner because alcohol doesn't produce much of solvent proprieties after being in contact for 12 hours As far as priming compound, here there is a Factory who sell brass washed steel primers with no paper to avoid humidity to get in the priming mix (the box also says...
