    MGW Sight Pusher

For a whole lot less dinero, you could have one of these, that will work on the front and rear sight of most pistols: www.sightpushertool.com They are available from THR classifieds as well as the web site.

    sight pusher

Thanks for the kind words. Building your own pusher is possible, but a lot more difficult than you might imagine. If you have the skills and equipment to do it, have at it. Otherwise, it's more efficient to just buy one with proven capabilities. The square tubing models for the most part pull at...

    inexpensive Handgun

Any of the S&W third generation autos. 5906, 4006, 6906, etc. they come in many different flavors. DA/SA and DAO. Both the 9' and 40s can be found in your price range. Very durable, reliable, and accurate. Plenty of mags available for most models. They are a bit heavy, but pleasant to shoot...

Tell me about the Ruger gp100

I had a few GP 100's and they got sold or traded. Still have my 686 though. The bore axis on the Ruger is higher than the Smith. The action needs work out of the box. Nothing major, mostly just springs. The Smiths frequently can use a little help too. Anyway, the high bore of the GP was a deal...

First try at 4" K frame concealed carry. Not good.

If the M19 has the target stocks, replacing them with Magna style stocks would aid concealability.

    Top selling gun of 2013

I'm sure a lot of AR's were sold, but I would bet that something like the Ruger 10-22 or Remingtom 780 sold more than any brand of AR.

Ammo prices - then and now

Circa 1955, when I was 8 years old, I had the pretty much unrestricted use of my Dad's Marlin 39A. Not a Golden, just a 39A. Ballard rifiling, no gimmicks like a gold trigger. Anyway, I would periodically make the track to Burton's General Store, where I could buy ammo. Yes, gentle reader, Mr...

I have no idea if this is feasible or not, but if you get it done I'd sure like to read about the result.

What state has the highest percentage of adults with carry permits?

Don't know about the state as a whole, but Jefferson County, AL (Birmingham) runs about 12-13% according to a newspaper article a couple of years back. Likely a bigger number today. The percentage of people actually carrying guns is much higher. One LEO of my acquaintance guesstimated 75%.

    Tomorrow's Rare and Collectible

Speaking of gen3 S&W guns, the 10XX series has to top the list for future collectables. The 1076 is already pretty much a collectors item.

an entire year of shooting lost to the hoarders and gougers

I'm good on all centerfiee ammo because I reload and I have plenty of components in stock. .22, not so much. I've only recently begun shooting rim fire again. I have been able to buy about 500 rounds in the past six months at somewhat inflated prices. Centerfiee, I have probably enough to last...

Brand new KelTec PF9 Desert Tan?

That's a fair price. I have one in gray that I've carried for several years. Very reliable and surprisingly accurate. Very light, so it's got a pretty good kick. Not unmanageable by any means, but I doubt you'll want to fire more than a few mags per session. Slightly smaller than the S&W Shield...

    Guns of Billy the Kid

That seems more likely than a Lightning. The .38 Colt round was pretty marginal. Both are the model 1877.

    "Illegal guns"

Actually, there are guns that are illegal. For anyone, period. Example would be a gun wih the serial number ground off.

    Guns of Billy the Kid

For some reason, a Colt Lightning comes to mind. Not real sure of that, however.
