    Selling My SKS

Sold mine a few years ago, and have regretted it ever since. To each his own.

Would you stay in a state that stopped allowing you to carry

I am lucky in that I have a job which allows me to carry anywhere and I live in a pretty gun friendly state, so for me it isn't an issue. But, were I single, and lost that job, I would consider moving.

What Kind Of Gun Would You Like To See?

A clockwork gun. You wind it up with a big key like on an old tin toy and as the spring unwinds with everyv trigger pull it drops the hammer. Not exactly practical, but I'd like to see it anyway. Just for kicks.

    What is your oldest rifle....

I've got a 1925 Mosin. Haven't shot it yet, but Hopefully will get out this week.

What household items do you reuse in this interest?

I recycle old towels for cleaning, I've got an old tackle box for range tools, milk jugs make good targets.

    Teaching someone not to "flinch"

A lot of people don't realize they are flinching. Get some snap caps and stagger a couple in the magazine. She'll see herself flinch when there's no bang. Have her fire a few shots with just the snap caps, consciously, slowly following everystep (front sight, front sight, squeeze, pop, repeat).

Madness after girl, 4, draws gun pic at school

You'll have to be clearer. Are you suggesting that the four year old girl is a frequent poster here? Or maybe she frequents other boards? Or maybe, based on some posts on this forum, the Canadian authorities would have the right to search someone's house? If there was a point in your...

Zen and the art of shooting

Have only been "in the zone" a coupla times, but the only way I could describe it was like being The Terminator. I made myself a machine. It was just the gun and following every step to the letter to make each shot that perfect shot. To be sure, they weren't ALL perfect shots, but my score...

Madness after girl, 4, draws gun pic at school

I have been telling everyone I know about this since I first heard about it. I am well aware that this sort of nonsense can happen here, and does. The case in my previous post proves it. If you don't point out the pure stupidity in the logic defending that behavior, then all is lost. No...

If you were hunting big game & came across a coyote..

You needn't worry...we shoot deer too...

Madness after girl, 4, draws gun pic at school

He was put in handcuffs and strip searched based on a picture by a four year old and a statement about "bad guys" and "monsters". Are you really defending that? Really? This is a firearms forum, so yes, we make a big deal about it because it is firearms related. There was a case in SC where...

    Most "loved/hated" guns

H&K might fall into that category, although less than Glock. I have a USP I love, and I carry a Glock at work. Shoot both decently. Used to carry H&K P2000 and just never could shoot the thing as well as I would have liked. As far as Hi-point...I would buy one, but they are just the ugliest...

If You Are Going To Bubba A Mosin-Nagant

If it had been a $2000 Mosin that would have been sarcasm. That was just a non sequitur.

If You Are Going To Bubba A Mosin-Nagant

I did. If you think any run of the mill, one in 20,000,000 Russian rifle is ever going to be worth that much, you're kidding yourself. I have seen your link and stand by what I posted.

If You Are Going To Bubba A Mosin-Nagant

Value is relative. If he got what he wanted out of the rifle and has no intention of selling it, I would say he got a lot of value. He took a base model firearm and made it better (for him). That is value.

Nations Gun Show - Absurdly Crowded

I went and the line was around the building at 9:30. When I left at 1:30 the line wasn't any shorter. I overheard a vendor saying he hasn't sold much because all the people made it hard to see the merchandise. It was shoulder to shoulder the whole time. I'll still go again in April, but next...

If You Are Going To Bubba A Mosin-Nagant

Your average 1942-43 Mosin numbers near 3 million strong. Do what you like to it, it is your rifle. There are more than enough people preserving their history, do whatever you like with it. I think that one looks very nice.

What is the first gun you ever puchase or received

13 years ago, based on reading the books of Dick Marcinko, I bought a USP .40. Still have it, still carry it everyday.

    Why Not a M1 Garand?

Have one in 7.62. Love it. But perhaps it's not for some people. The M1A is a great gun, why doesn't everyone have one of those? Or a 1911? The list goes on. It can be heavy for some people, some people prefer a scope or a different round.

    And the Purist Scream

I'm in favor of buying a milsurp in as close to issue condition as possible and keeping it that way. I also believe that a certain amount of refinishing is ok as long as it is keeping with the original intent of the weapons use. There is a particular schedule of maintenance that was expected...
