IOR valdada has some nice variable power optics, but i think they're calibrated for a certain caliber, but you should definately check them out.
another is the leupold 1.5-5x PR scope with the SPR reticle.
you could also get an ACOG if you have the cash to spend on one.
don't kill me for bringing back an old thread, but can any .30 spitzer bullets be loaded into a .30 carbine and fit into an m1 carbine mag, or can you only use 110gr RNSP and 110gr RN ball?
i just put a choate ultimate varmint sotck on my model 10 only because i can't afford a mcmillan right now. i have yet to shoot it with the new stock on, but i assume that it will shoot better than with the factory stock on it.
thanks, i wanted to keep it as true to spec as possible.
the funny thing about that receiver is i got it BEFORE all this talk about the BATFE deciding to reinterpret the law and banning the import of imbel receivers. i think i paid $175 or so for it and now those SAME receivers are over...
well, this saga starts about a year ago when i bought an Argentine Para FAL kit from FWRA on FALfiles.com. after a few months of waiting for all the damn US compliance parts to come in, i finally went to my gunsmith and had him order an Imbel GL receiver and i gave him all of the required parts...
i got to meet the gentleman who survived after being shot a few times...the one that finished the BG's off. he talked to our unit before we deployed about combat mindset. it was a good speech; nice and informal. took him about 2 hours to describe the encounter which lasted, what, like 5 minutes...
the loews is a nice hotel too. i haven't stayed there, but i might the next time i go down to south beach. if you aren't already, you should join the loews first club so you can get free room upgrades and stuff. and it's free to join.
i really need to put a different stock on my savage. it's so flimsy that if i twist my wrist where the pistol grip is, i can change the point of impact of the round. not good.
congratulations marine. i can't believe that it's already been 4 months since you told us you were going. i can only hope that my deployment goes this fast!

a friend (and co-worker) who is a serious shooter bought a savage 110FP in .30-06 about a year ago, and he said that it would shoot better than MOA out to 500 yds.
i would pick the 97 if it weren't so darn big. it's a beautiful gun and...well, it's a CZ! if it were a little bit smaller, i would definately choose it.
until then i will have to go with the sig.
