    S&W 617 failure to fire.

Sticky extraction on my 617 since day one. Lovely trigger and action though.

    XDS 45 acp

My friend has an XD-S .45 (I have two in 9mm) and it's been a good pistol for him and his wife, who both passed their ccw course using it. I only shot a few mags through it and had no issues with reliability or accuracy, I just preferred 9mm. I don't know what the market is like today but at the...

New K frame Keith Brown Grips; Model 67 or pre-18?

I agree, a bit out of place on the 67. Save them for a blued gun.

.38 Spl is quickly becoming a favorite

Proud model 67 owner myself. The way they gently contoured those are the sweet spot between pencil and bull barrels. Bull barrels look a bit unfinished and the pencil barrels are a bit thin for my liking. I've said it before but I think these are the apex .38 special revolvers.

    CZ 75 D PCR compact v. Bersa TPR9c 9mm - your exp/opinion of either or both please

All I can say is that I wish I had kept my CZ PCR. I used it for trade fodder and would rather have it back. That pistol fit like a glove. Still have some VZ coyote grips if anyone needs a set or wants to trade something similar for BHP or Beretta 92! Probably worth it's own thread in the...

    LCR or J frame preference

I prefer the LCR. Considering one in .327 for the 6th shot or a Kimber k6xs. As above, the frame is not polymer, only the trigger guard. At this place in the market I believe the Ruger LCR has proven itself very well and I wish they would expand the format to a larger frame.

    Do you own a Glock?

Nope. Glock grip angle doesn't suit me. I can use it when pressed but there is no shortage of other options. However, those other options may never have existed without Glock popularizing the format, so some credit is due even though strikers are nothing new.

What's the hottest 9x19 +p factory load available?

Had to kick the bolt open after every shot with my Argentinian Mauser using that ammo. Didn't take too long to realize the problem probably wasn't the rifle.

    9x18 Mak or .45 GAP?

My cz82 in 9x18 was slick as snot and felt like a comfortable refined pistol. My makarov, however feels, like a staple gun that shoots bullets! It goes bang and shoots straighter than I can. Definitely not the last pistol I would trust my life to.

    Kahr cm9

My disappointment came from the factory response to my issues which seemed to be well known, and an unfriendly welcome at the Kahr forum while seeking assistance. I knew about the 200 round break in period but paying return shipping twice and then being asked to repeat the 200 round break in...

    Kahr cm9

Well, good luck! I spent more money on ammunition trying to get my cm9 to work than I paid for the gun, and the response from Kahr was to keep sending more and more ammo through the pistol. It was a complete waste of time and money. The cm9 has been supplanted by other options since then but it...

Getting comfortable with buying a gun I can't inspect in person

Every used revolver I purchased off of Gunbroker was unsatisfactory. That's a total of two however, and they both had to go back to the factory for repair. The S&W at my expense and the Ruger for the cost of shipping. The S&W was way out of time and the Ruger had a cylinder gap way out of spec...

    New to me XD 45

Very good price. My xd45 has been flawless. I'd buy another at that price.

    It finally happened

The tactical Toblerone! A great price, I've never handled one but I can't imagine it feels like a Hi Power. That might sell me on one.

Ruger SP101 327 Federal Now Shipping

I've only made one order from Family Firearms and they were fine! Good prices. Website is a little janky on mobile though.

    My model 28-2 identifies as a 44spl

Is the conversion bored out or does it need a donor barrel and cylinder?

    My model 28-2 identifies as a 44spl

That is a neat idea. Any limitations with the .45 acp conversion?

    Springfield XD in 2023?

No brainer for $200. My full size xd 45 has been excellent and so has my xd-s.

    Which .45 for Bedside "Duty?"

My old bedside .45 before reverting to 9mm was a Springfield XD 45. 13+1 rounds of .45acp is good medicine and the pistol has worked flawlessly since day one. A very fine pistol. The 9mm only replaced it to be a bit more user friendly for my wife.

SD Ammo Tests Through 442, LCR, and 856

Thank you for adding to the knowledge base. I'm also currently using the golden sabers in my LCR, they are a very decent compromise for such a small gun. My preference leans towards the heavier standard pressure loads in a snub but the GS ain't bad. When the cold weather hits I usually switch...
