    The Official Holster cross-compatibilty thread.

My S&W 4566 with the square trigger guard fits in a Price Western Leather pancake holster for a Sig 226.

    Movie showing Point-Shooting?

Of course, a lot of the "Modern Techniques" are old techniques that were re-discovered. ;)

    Movie showing Point-Shooting?

It could also be argued that was a "Speed Rock" which is a modern technique.

    Trip to VA Circuit Court

When I got my permit they gave me a paper with the state laws (where I couldn't carry, etc). They don't do that now?

What to get my 9 year old daughter?

Everybody says .22 and I agree. The last thing you want a to do is have her develop a flinch from shooting a loud handgun. I learned to shoot when people were too stupid to use hearing protection and I have been fighting a flinching problem my whole life.

Yeah, folks can change a bit in 40 years.

    Stephen Hunter's Books

Lamar is Earl’s illegitimate son; making him Bob Lee’s half brother. It’s explained in “Black Light”. Even with that connection, you can’t call “Dirty White Boy’s” an Earl story any more than you can call it a Bob Lee story.

    Stephen Hunter's Books

It's not that I didn't like Havana, it's just that it seems like Hunter cut it short like he was late for his deadline. There were so many sub-plots and characters that were left undeveloped. The book could have been twice as long. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it very much, I just felt like...

    Which .22 auto?

I like the Buckmark better, but that's just my opinion. Both are good guns. Is there a range with rentals near you? You really need to fire both and see which one "fits" you the best.

gun shops and ranges in southwest VA?

I've never been to Trader Jerry's shop but from what I've seen at the gun shows, their prices are very good and the guys at the shows are very nice.

gun shops and ranges in southwest VA?

Another vote for Darrell at Whitetail Outfitters. The range in the national forest is the only public one I know of. There used to be a hunt club that had a range. It was "Shawnee Hunt Club". I don't know if they are still around or not.

What are the dumbest gun handling skills you've seen in hollywood movies?

Even when they do pick up a weapon from a dead bad guy, they never search the body for extra mags. I've only seen one movie where they did, I believe it was "Terminator 2". What bothers me the most is pistols that continue to fire with the slide locked back.

Any reasonably price Transfer dealers in SW VA

Try Whitetail Outfitters in Riner. I've never done a transfer there but I've bought two guns and the owner is a really nice guy that would probably be as reasonable as anyone around.

    Tunnel rat weapons?

An article I read said .38 special revolvers.

    Am I a Fudd?

They have been around for a long time. If you're old enough you'll remember. They were around in 1968 saying, "What does anybody need a saturday night special for? You can't hunt with them."

    Columbus Police Choose New Pistol

A .45 stopped by a wallet  I bet there's more to that story, like maybe the car door or wall stud that it went through first.
